No moves for Quagliarella & Gilardino
By Football Italia staff

Fabio Quagliarella of Juventus and Alberto Gilardino of Genoa will not be on the move this summer, says agent Giuseppe Bozzo.

The players’ representative spoke to Sport Italia in an effort to calm speculation around the duo’s future.

“They’re some of the best attackers in Serie A,” noted Bozzo. “And it is normal that they’re liked both in Italy and abroad.

“However, the two players are not moving.”

Quagliarella has struggled to become a mainstay in Juventus’ starting XI following injury in January 2011. The YouTube sensation managed a mere 23 League appearances last season – less than Mirko Vucinic and Alessandro Matri – and scored just four goals all campaign.

Bozzo’s words seem to confirm that the player will not leave the Old Lady, even if a world class attacker were brought into the side, as is largely rumoured.

Gilardino similarly struggled for both playing time and goals last year. His return of just four strikes in 14 appearances since his January switch has left question marks about his Marassi future.

No surprises there.

Quag has had one good half season, one half season of injury and one season of uselessness. The injury obviously affected him badly, but enough time has passed that it can't be an excuse anymore. Time for him to move on.
This is where you and a bunch of other people are mistaken. He had one amazing half season, and that was followed by a horrible injury, the first big one of his career mind you, which meant a half season injury lay off. But even on his return, he didn't get the full season, he was gradually inducted into the team during the second phase of the season. So in reality, he has not had a full season last year. This will be his first full season with Juve, and I can't wait for him to prove people like you wrong.

Also, in his half season, look up how many full games he got under his belt. Less than 5 ninety minute games. Thats not a yardstick you'd judge anybody by. I'm sure you'll agree it to be unfair. This season, a fully fit Quag, playing from the start of the season, is going to be a different proposition.

Not mediocre, very average.
Can you take this call end of the season?! We'll have a level playing field and some very handy facts, and you won't be basing your judgments on thin air.

Quag sucks, Matri sucks, now let's play 1 Youth (Boakye,Immobile), Vucinic, Jovetic, Gio and RVP. Do it Marotta.
Now would be a good time to insert your did not read gif. ;)

Suns you know I agree with you in regards to Giovinco, but in this matter you've lost the plot

1. Quag has proven once that he can have 7+ goals seasons.
2. He's known for is youtube goals, so this whole thing about him offering nothing is false. He's a great passer and scorer, His pass to Sissoko vs Milan is just one example. And his season two seasons ago was a great indication of what he his capable off, with the right determination he can put in a decent shift this season.
3. Btw he got more goals than Matri in less apps when you compare their best seasons for Juve thus far, and Quag was injured most this season and manaed 5? goals.
Kasaki FTW.

If everything goes well in the attacking department, we won't have to see him play. And for what, so he can give us his usual 10 goals and 2 assists? And thats if he's considered a starter the whole year. And since he won't start or even be first or second reserve off the bench, he won't get near his 10 goals in a full season.

He's not good enough here, not in the present Juventus or in the team Juventus plans on becoming.

I prefer Klose to Quags or Matri even though i love them both, and considering we paid a lot of cash for both of them whilst Lazio got their man for next to nothing, i'd say we fucked up.

This is the only thing you do, either name calling or stupid one liners to diss. Tell me why I'm wrong and what you don't agree with. Seems like there are many people that share similar thoughts about Quag.
:sergio: No, it's the only thing I do at all, read a bit earlier in thread mate. I could also say you post crap with no evidence to back anything up (besides your own deluded opinions).

Quagliarella is a very capable player and is a great addition to have to in the foward line. Do you expect us to have a WC striker as a 2nd or 3rd choice backup foward? What you are suggesting is that he is a crap player and isn't good enough for Juventus. That, frankly, is a load of absolute horse shit seeing as Conte didn't call up other players not good enough for Juve for the pre-season camp (i.e. Iaquinta, Pazienza etc) and not to mention Conte said Quagliarella won't be sold while he is coach (but I'm sure you know better). Having a proper pre-season not coming off an injury and getting more playing time through CL and Serie A will help him a lot and he will score some important goals for us. Another added bonus is that he is already familiar with our tactics and if we got someone to replace that player would have to start from scratch.

He's consistently scored 12-13 goals at smaller teams like Samp and Udinese. And was well on course to outdo that in his first season at Juve with 9 goals before we had even reached the halfway point. He had 4 or 5 goals coming off a career threatening injury, as part of a new set up and not even being at his best, so how you got a figure of 10 goals and 2 assists is beyond me. Also just for the record, 10 goals is where I'd peg Giovinco at, someone who you consider to be world class. And this is relevant because they're both going to feature in the upcoming season. And I'll even go as far saying, Quag being the more dynamic of the two, a better athlete and physical presence will do just as much if not more than Gio if given the sufficient playing time. Everything you're saying right now is absolutely baseless and pretty dismissive because of your ignorance of the player.
