If he does what he did for us last season then you can't really complain. Scored most times he was called upon in some crucial matches.

Yeah. After all we know what he can score and actually does score. Why risk selling him (or almost all our our strikers) and bring in another, who probably doesn't manage to settle down and will fail horribly?

I'm pleased the Gila/Quag swap didn't play out.

1. Conte's system apparently requires a shit load of adaptation by the forwards in particular. Quag knows the system - who knows how much time Gila would need.

2. Conte may have lamented the departure of a Matri type but that was all hollow talk in my opinion and nothing more than putting pressure on the mgmt. He has been an ardent fan of technical players that move about a lot and e.g. Tevez/Vuci have worked great. I can't remember exactly, but I think Gio/Vuci actually got the most minutes last season as a pair. Quag mightn't be fantastic in this regard but Gila surely isn't better.

3. If we absolutely need someone to hover around the box and be a menace we kinda got one of the better ones at that for free.

The only benefit, as I see it, would be a financial one and it wouldn't be a huuuge difference.

Glad that he stays. Not really fond of the idea of replacing him and Matri with a Gilardino at the first place.
Especially, not so late in the mercato. If there's an truth to the rumour that Conte vetoed his sale when he was close to Lazio, then that's a good thing for both, player and coach.

Vuc tevez llorente quags should be our go to guys

tough luck gio.
That's a solid four if you ask me. Well balanced. Would've been perfect if Matri was retained and Gio let go of.

well now that he's staying all we can do is give him our best support. anyway given that this is a fairly stronger squad than our last and we will be playing in all three competitions, I am sure everyone will get a substantial amount of playing time.

except bendtner. is he still around?
Yea, but we also stop need to look at him with disrespect like he offers nothing. He's staying with good reason, because he has been a fair contributor to our success in the past seasons.

:chin: #TeamQuags

Really cool he's staying, I like Gila enough to not care either way.
#TeamQuag: VICTORYYYYYYYYYYY. Forza Juve. :)

I've kept quiet the past days about this whole situation but I DEFINITELY prefer Quagliarella over Gilardino.

Cool for him that he's staying, but I believe this is his last season with us, so y'all enjoy him while you can :)
Good to know, hopefully he'll enjoy your support and criticism whenever necessary. :) I think if we haven't sold him this season, then his value is going to be considerably lower next season, which may just keep him around as 4th-5th choice till his contract plays out. That said, he could also be let go on the cheap depending on Llorente's ability to adapt, Vucinic's mercato price next season and the way our youngsters develop. I genuinely think Jovetic will come to Juve coz he's not going to find space at City. And if that's the case, he'll likely replace Gio or Vuci IMO. But we are getting ahead of ourselves. For now, I hope Quag can continue to offer his unpredictability coming off the bench and be a strong contributor like last season.

Forza Quag. Forza Juve.

Quag is more dynamic which is useful. We have a set of strikers that all bring something quite different.
That is true. Even Giovinco brings his unique height to the mix.

Went to bed with news of Quag deal being almost done and woke up to find he's staying after all... What a way to start the morning :touched:
Are you kidding me? I was up all night. :D

Good men. Conte and Quags!
:agree:

Clearly, you've seen the future. That's awesome. :yao:
It's clear. Conte won't make changes until minute 75, at least from first two games we witnessed that. And he prefers to give more playing time to Ogbona and Isla. Quag is not a difference maker, so he won't come in the last 20 minutes if we need goals. Chances for him to start are very slim. Giovinco will replace Vucinic if needed, while Llorente Tevez, so I don't see him getting minutes unless there are injuries and I hope there will not be injuries.

Anelka and Bendtner scored 13 goals the season before at Juve

Go and die in a hole
I was referring when they played for Juve.
