Sporting director and coach are very different levels in Serie A. This isn’t EPL where the coach is basically same level as sporting director and makes all the transfer decisions.
Paratici himself has confirmed that Sarri was literally his choice, “the ideal Juventus coach” lol. Of course Agnelli has to agree to it. He probably also has to agree to any big player transfers, but that doesn’t mean he’s the one who picks the coach to target. That’s pretty clearly the sporting director. And if he didn’t trust his sporting director’s judgment than why on earth would he have him in that position? Agnelli’s mistake is putting trust in Paratici as a sporting director. He was a great head of scouting working in unison with Beppe but clearly has a pretty little idea of what this club stands for, beyond that, with the comments he’s been making since his promotion.

Can you post the quote where Paratici said that hiring Sarri was his choice? Don't think I've read that.
