Chiellini hopes for Canna reunion
Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini would welcome Fabio Cannavaro back to Turin with open arms.
Cannavaro's agent is in talks with Juve over the possibility of a return, but there have been rumblings of discontent from the Bianconeri faithful.
The Azzurri skipper left Juve after the Calciopoli crisis when he signed for Real Madrid, but Chiellini has forgiven him.
“I have read about it in the newspapers and I don't know much more than that, but it would be an honour to play alongside Fabio again,” Chiellini said to the Corriere dello Sport.
“It would be a great signing for Juventus. We cannot forget that Cannavaro is a Ballon d'Or winner and the captain of the Italian national side.
“You can talk about his decision to leave the club when we were demoted to Serie B, but you cannot question his value as a player and as a man. We can all learn something from him.”
Chiellini finished the interview by supporting a possible move for Sampdoria star Antonio Cassano.
“He has done well for the Azzurri and I am sure that he would behave himself at Juve,” he said.
“I can assure you that he would have no problem settling in at Juventus.”
