Many of the so-called socialist and labour parties in mainstream european politics are run of the mill neoliberal/social democrats.
Yep. I concur.

A socialist in the U.S. is looked at like a murder weapon. Bernie Sanders if he were 23 and had pipe bombs.

But in Europe, Joe Manchin would be a socialist.

Yea it's always funny hearing muricans using far-left or even communist to refer to milquetoast socdems like Sanders or AOC. Goes to show how skewed towards the right the political window has become (as has been the case throughout much of the west), plus the low quality of political/historical education in general.

It is also a consequence of red scare propaganda, which calmed down a bit in the 90s and 00s but is now back as a consequence of the rise of China.

All I have to say in this thread: wake the fuck up!

Get rid of Muslims and Africans ASAP. Or AT LEAST stop the influx. Promote native procreation at all costs.

I wish we had a system that allowed for more than 2 parties :sigh:
In Europe, people have long understood that voting left or right changes absolutely nothing, since they no longer have any control over the economic world, these powers have been delegated to the European bureaucracy and big businesses. To give himself a semblance of difference, he excels in cosmetic societal laws: abortion, homosexual marriage...

If Sunak is from the Conservative Party, what’s the alternative on the right for you since they’re heading for a loss? Or will the left win?
Labour will win even if Krusty the Clown is leader as there are realistically only two parties and Tories' time is up (for this cycle at least).

Reform will fill the right wing niche for some people and inevitably do a bit of damage as Labour are also thoroughly unimpressive. Because of this you might see a few of the smaller parties do ok for seats. Lib Dems will finish their usual distant third.

Honestly don't know how I feel about it. I don't think a lot of these immigrants should be here but understand the reasons why many legitimately want to be here. There isn't really an easy answer to it.
Yeah I understand that. From a populistic point of view you’re like ‘fuck yeah, send them away’, from a humanistic pov everything changes. I think those policies are made to have a shocking effect, the UK won’t described as heaven anymore if you know that you’re possibly on the next flight to Rwanda.

It also doesn’t show a lot of respect to a certain country to just migrate in the hundreds of thousands without any documents and just expect that everything will somehow work out for you.

If anything it shows how important foreign investments are as long as the receiving country isn’t corrupt
