Seems to me like a lot of these with the "lads, lads, lads" mentality (i.e. get smashed and do what you want) thought because of the occasion and its rarity it could be treated like a national holiday and you ended up with thousands of people acting like it was a stag weekend in Benidorm, and probably a few million around the country got very drunk for the same reason.

Have to say that I enjoyed watching some of those who broke into the stadium getting a kicking from those inside who had paid.

I suppose eventually the majority of them will be found and charged, once the police have gone through the footage, but they won't care because they got to take part in England's second biggest football day in history.

What if these people got close to where the Italians were sitting? Could’ve been another Heysel. England should be banned from hosting international games for five more years.
Hmm I'm not sure about that, the modern stadiums are huge, easier egress than the deathtraps that were 80s stadiums with their fences and walls, and there were a lot of stewards in the stadium during the game.

The World cup and Euro had more of a wow factor and was more intense back in the 90's and early 2 thousands. Watching it now is more meh..

The overall quality of players was much higher, just look at the Italy NT two or three generations back. And this is not nostalgia speaking. The same goes for UCL.

Do not agree with this at all. I think the quality of players is similar, although I do think the underperformance of some countries (France, Germany, Netherlands, Croatia) certainly lowered any wow factor. Players are like musicians, get more appreciated once they retire or die.

Maybe. But this Euro was super exciting tbh. I got to watch one game live myself (Turkey-Wales).

:sergio: People nowadays are fucken boring. Everybody are absolutists and climate fanatics (and of course commies). Living in the 70's must have been a lot better than this shit.
Exactly they're boring, fuckers gotta binge drink to liven it up by throwing glass bottles everywhere, turn Leicester square into a regular shit hole in Napoli or Marseille, fight with each other, go and jib, pick on some black guy, piss on some black guy, stick a firework up their ass, show their hairy nutsack to everyone (boobs are different), those who do that actually find this amusing.
