1) No one has gotten more stick this season than Sebastian Mignolet. Even Lovren has been called out in the papers, same with Markovic. Balo got his share of "wake the $#@! up" from the manager and with the exception of Lovren, those players have been improved.

2) Gerrard can say what he wants. He's a legend, the captain, the star of the team. Don't break the hierarchy simple as that. If you do, don't be surprised when captain fantastic comes down on you.

3) The english players on the team don't get protection. They haven't needed it this season. Gerrard, Henderson, Sterling, Sturridge, Lallana, Ibe have all been solid. The only guy that's really been protected by the manager is Skrtel.

I havent seen Lallana getting any wake the fuck up or being publicly told to work harder or being given half of the attention that balotelli got. Lallana has been far from solid especially for a mega transfer. I really disagree on everyone getting an equal share of public criticism from Rogers but I wont argue for it because that would involve looking up articles and things I am too lazy to do.


What Gerrard did was wrong there is no two ways around it. You pool fans might take anything from him sure and accept things from him that you wouldnt accept from others sure, but that doesn't make what he did right in anyway. Captain fantastic should come down on him in private not in public it is as simple as that. What Gerrard did is wrong and in most cases if Rogers himself did it then is also wrong.

There is no such thing as earning the right to say whatever you want. A captain should motivate his team and take the pressure off of him. As should the coach. Liverpool is doing the opposite of that. Rogers was blaming balotelli for his own failures during the first half of the season while he barely said anything against the greater and more expensive flops like Lovren, Lallana and Markovic who did have a pre-season with the club and weren't last minute panic buys.

Now Gerrard calling out a player who has is now finally performing and who they are in dire need of. Thats classless and stupid.
You won't see Buffon or any other captain with a brain do that. Gerrard is acting like Casillas' wife. If Buffon does something similar, I'd be questioning his wisdom too.

Rogers should 1) give gerrard a talking to 2) force gerrard to publicly apologize to balo and 3) give balo a warning 4)tell the media that there is no problem and that Pool deals with these things behind closed doors.

Rogers called out everyone this season and everyone he called out is playing better. What you're getting at, how Balo has been treated so poorly, just isn't there. Rogers has even called out Borini and Lambert at times. But he's also praised these players when they've done well.

You need to update your news man. Lallana and Markovic have been on fire lately. Both are now starting on a regular basis. Lallana was injured for the first month of the season and Markovic needed time to settle in. Even Emre Can is starting.

Do you think Gerrard publicly (instead of privately) dealing with Balo's situation is:
1) Wrong but excusable a la totti.
2) Not wrong. Balo made a mistake and he called him out. In public or private doesn't make a difference. Only the captain has that right though.
3) Not wrong. balo made a mistake. Any player has the right to publicly out their teammates in a similar situation.

If I remember correctly it was under Ranieri? Someone with a better memory has to confirm. But yeah it happened. Totti refused to get subbed.

But by Crimsonian King's books, he can do whatever he wants because he is a legend and a star and so has earned the right to screw his own team over if he wants and is beyond punishment for mistakes that he made.
