Portugal overtaking Serie A is NOT true.

Portugal have jumped over Ligue 1.
Here is a fact for you: If Benfica wins the Europa League, Portugal has a better starting point than Serie A going into the 13/14 season. This means that unless Serie A outperforms Portugal in 13/14, Portugal will overtake Italy in coefficient points and will be the forth best league in the 14/15 season.

People need to realize that we have to root for Italian teams in Europe.

I've always rooted for Italian teams. I believe a strong Serie A = Strong Juventus. Stronger Serie A = more appeal.

Some people just say Fuck Inter, fuck Lazio, fuck this fuck that just because they can't see beyond their hatred.

Everyone should look at the bigger picture.

I hope Chelsea do us a favour...

please paint this big picture for us, assuming our rooting has any effect in the first place. What does it matter if it's perugia/napoli/inter in second place? teams that are well managed will rise to the occasion whether you root for them or not, your rooting for them only shows how fickle of a fan you are.

this is quite ridiculous a league with clubs like juventus, ac. milan and inter ( I know you hate them both :juventus:) but they are still good clubs with some trophies at their pocket, could be the 5th best league in europe...:confused2

The bigger picture? The bigger picture is that if other Italian teams fail in the European tournaments that hurts Juventus down just as much.

The other part of that sentence I'm not going to touch. That was just...:sergio:

nice circular argument there, it sucks because it sucks

that was just what? i dont think you understand what a rival is, how many times have you been to a derby in a stadium?

Are you actually serious? When I say rooting I mean "supporting because it will be for the greater good of Serie A", not because it will literally effect their performance on the pitch. When you choose to support for example Fiorentina in Europe you do it because you realize that good results in Europe will also mean a stronger Serie A and therefore a stronger Juventus. Sure, a well managed team will rise to the occasion anyway, but ignoring Italian teams in Europe won't make you a better fan. Only ignorant. Hoping Italian teams will fail in Europe will mean that you simply do not care about the level of Serie A or that you simply think that bad results in Europe don't affect the competitiveness of Serie A.

Sure, everyone has a team they can't support no matter what, but being against every single Italian team in Europe is just stupid.

I've seen Juventus-Inter and Barcelona-Real of the big ones. Is that good enough for you?
