Although i can see Pool doing better in the EPL, i see two reasons that it wouldnt matter.
I am not sure about the new owners willing to spent as much as Manure and Chel$ki, but it is really hard, nearly impossible, to build a team, with the same depth and world class % of players, if you dont invest more or the same.
Pool's type of players favors cap type of competitions and they naturally turned their attention/focus there. You have to be pleased by the performances, Pool had, in the CL.
The increase of investment is not Rafa's choice and a new coach woulsnt change that.
Rafa can as well make a team to challenge for the championship, but he feels he has less chances there and you would disappoint you, if the team was worthless in Europe, there lies Pools power, the fans, the glory, the sponsors are all fed by those success, should he risk to lose them for a faint hope of a domestic title?
And what makes you think that you can find a coach as good as him?

Well I guess I've told this before, but it all goes back to the 98' World Cup. I was 14 and it was probably the first time I was watching football and could actually understand what was going on. Saw Owen's goal. As a 14 year old watching an 18 year old score in the world cup, I was pretty excited. Back then we had Fox Sports World and they had a wrap up show and replay games on sundays, I watched that and watched Pool whenever I could. Over the years the interest grew and one day I decided they were my team. I enjoyed their style, attitude, the sound of the fans, back then I didn't really understand the magnitude of the Champions League or the Premiership, but enjoyed watching football and having a team to cheer for. Heck I didn't even know about Heysel until about 2002. That was my first year of college and I was able to watch matches in real time when I wasn't in class. Now it's 2008 and I've been following Liverpool for 10 years now. I guess if was basically a case of first come first serve.
When you ask me what I see in Liverpool. It's almost a rhetorical question because for me its a matter of what don't I see? I've seen some of the craziest comebacks in history. Down 3-0 to Milan and coming back to win the game on penalties on nothing but a lot of grit, heart, and a little bit of luck. I've also seen some of the worst performances by the team. I've seen great players come through and terrible players come through. But I still like 'em and I probably always will. I don't know if I would watch European football if I didn't like Liverpool, aside from the occasional US game.

They have a very good team, but only Arda would fit with Juve, and maybe Sabri on Juve's bench.
