Chelsea have nothing to be proud of, on the contrary this match coupled with the Bolton one 3 days ago convinced me that Barca will stuff the commies.
I dare say you come off a tiny bit biased. So pool should be proud of going down while chelski, handling them elegantly, shouldn't? Somehow that doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

Again in these situations some people come up with this theory that if you put everything on the line and lose then you were "brave". Whereas if you tried to play safe and hope for a few flashes along the way then you deserve nothing but scorn. From a neutral observer point of view that may be sensible, but as far as strategy goes, only that is good which succeeds.

Is this the anti Italy NT argument again? Cause it seems familiar.

After the first goal Liverpool pushed forward, most of Chelsea's goals after that were a direct consequence of them being outnumbered by Chelsea players.
Sorry, the first and the second goal Chelsea scored tonight had absolutely nothing to do with Liverpool being outnumbered by Chelsea players.
Anelka and Drogba created the first goal out of nothing. It was a stupid owngoal by Reina actually.
The second goal was a free kick from 1000000 kms, going in the center of the goal.

Even the third goal.....it happened while all Liverpool players were at the back, but Xabi decided to pass the ball, 16m from the goal, to the Chelsea player that was in the best position to pass.
And why were Pool pushed at the back for the third goal? Weren't they the team that was supposed to attack?

All three goals were Pool players big mistakes. Maybe not as funny mistakes as Cechs mistake for Pool's first goal, but they were funny mistakes in any case.

Add the great set-piece defending from the first match and you'll realize that Pool's awful defending, worse than Chelsea's defending, was the reason why they lost the tie.

It's not really anti Italy. The last time Italy won a World Cup they did actually put everything on the line. At one point Italy had FIVE strikers playing against Germany.
So if anything, this is a pro Italy argument.

I get your point though. But you have to know that Fred is annoying. And that means that all his opinions are flawed. Whether they relate to football or not.

I can't believe some people are laughing on Liverpool after the great game they played today. Anybody who says Liverpool didnt play a great game is biased. You say they let in 4 goals, well what did you expect, they were going to Stamford Bridge and had to win by a 3 goal margin, did you guys not expect them to throw caution to the wind.

I thought they played a very good game today. Obviously everything went downhill as soon as Chelsea scored the first goal because it meant it was back to scratch for Liverpool and they had to score another two goals.

Rafa took Masch out because he had to attack(should have took out Lucas, he's useless) which made Alonso face the duo of Lampard and Ballack alone sometimes, he isnt primarily a defensive minded midfielder so he was bound to struggle i dont blame him at all. I don't blame Rafa either because he had to take that risk.

Alonso is a brilliant midfielder who's had a very good season and in terms of performance he is one of the best in the EPL this season. Only people who don;t watch Liverpool would say otherwise. Heck you go to the United forums, and they're acknowledging the great season he's had. Some are going as far as saying he's more important than Gerrard
Mongoloids trying to beat Chelsea might be brave, but that does not make them less stupid. You can say kudos for the entertaining game, but that's about it. If anything, Liverpool were very, very, very poor today.

You're absolutely correct though, as you always are.

P.S: Almost always is what i mean. I distance myself from some of your comments in non-football topics. :D

Beh. In reality Italy never won anything playing catenaccio. They were entertaining in 1982 and gambled quite a lot in 2006. They came close in 2000 I suppose. But even then only one game comes to mind. It's all bias I'm afraid. Which of course does not mean that the Italians can't be annoying.

I almost got into trouble today. I was shouting "Allah Akbar", because I find it extremely catchy, but two women in burqas (although burqas are illegal in Belgium) and a couple of men were right behind me. And well.. apparently I do not look like someone who might be muslim. My friend got me out of the argument saying: "damn straight he is".

That's ridiculous. I hate Chelsea. Last time Chelsea was any fun Zola played for them.

But Liverpool were just stupid today.
In the second half. I thought we were good in the 1st. Then Floppin' Frank and his boys started drawing fouls closer and closer in.

Well, their first half was alright, yes. But overall you just have to say that Liverpool were not intelligent enough to win this one. Even if it was almost impossible right from the start.

But like I said before: thank you for an enjoyable game.

Why do the authorities let them wear the burqas then?
No idea. It's not the first time I've seen them. Last week I saw three girls wearing burqas on the bus. It's a very strange sight in Belgium, I must say.

I don't like the idea of clothes being forbidden to be honest, but according to the law people must be able to recognise you if you're on the street. Which is obviously impossible with a burqa.

Are you sure they were not right in front of you?

Take your thank yous and shove 'em.

I'd rather a 1-0 win at home and a 0-0 draw at the Bridge than to go out like Liverpool did today.
