I can't believe some people are laughing on Liverpool after the great game they played today. Anybody who says Liverpool didnt play a great game is biased. You say they let in 4 goals, well what did you expect, they were going to Stamford Bridge and had to win by a 3 goal margin, did you guys not expect them to throw caution to the wind.

I thought they played a very good game today. Obviously everything went downhill as soon as Chelsea scored the first goal because it meant it was back to scratch for Liverpool and they had to score another two goals.

Rafa took Masch out because he had to attack(should have took out Lucas, he's useless) which made Alonso face the duo of Lampard and Ballack alone sometimes, he isnt primarily a defensive minded midfielder so he was bound to struggle i dont blame him at all. I don't blame Rafa either because he had to take that risk.

Alonso is a brilliant midfielder who's had a very good season and in terms of performance he is one of the best in the EPL this season. Only people who don;t watch Liverpool would say otherwise. Heck you go to the United forums, and they're acknowledging the great season he's had. Some are going as far as saying he's more important than Gerrard

A typical Flamini saga - part 2.

A player in an EPL team not needed or on a free, gets approached by two Serie A teams. One team offers him wages three times than the other (because they do well in Europe for the sake of Italian football), ends up going to the richer club.

No matter how aggressively we go we will never be able to match Milan's salary budget. They have been helping Italian football for the past decade or two. It's just too much.

One more goal was enough. 1:3 would have taken them to ET.

The way both teams defended in this tie was laughable. And why shouldn't we laugh at Liverpool's defensive game? They couldn't defend set pieces last week, their goalkeeper made two errors for the opening two goals tonight, the third goal was an amateurish mistake by Xabi Alonso and only the 4th is excusable, because they had to push forward.

Chelsea weren't much better in defense, especially tonight.

Sorry, Fred. IMO, neither team had anything to be proud of on their own side of the halfway line today.

And while your point is taken that Pool had to press for away goals and risk exposing themselves at the back, that still doesn't excuse a lot of the poor individual defensive play on either side.

Watching that match, I felt like it was amateur exhibition night.

Cech is quite rubbish recently and they arent as good without Terry.

After the first goal Liverpool pushed forward, most of Chelsea's goals after that were a direct consequence of them being outnumbered by Chelsea players. Not laughable at all, i think they played a great game with a lot of character and heart. I'm willing to bet my house that you'd be proud of such a performance if it were Juve, I've seen you be proud of much worse performances by Juve than this one today.

Considering your performance in the first leg and watching Gerrard in the stands, no one would even imagine such a display from Liverpool especially in the first half. If it wasn't for Reina's mistake on Drogba's goal I'm sure you would make it for the semis. Chelsea had been completely clueless before that goal.

Liverpool players gave everything on the pitch, fought for every ball, didn't give up until the end and never were like losers. I hope you'll win the EPL.
Yeah you're right.

Sad to say, I felt Bayern's defense had more honor in giving up 4 and going down 4-0 against Barça last week compared to either Pool or Chelsea today. Because at least Barça displayed some outstanding play to earn their goals.

Chelsea have nothing to be proud of, on the contrary this match coupled with the Bolton one 3 days ago convinced me that Barca will stuff the commies.

Liverpool on the other hand would never have conceded most of these goals had they not been in this situation. But after that first goal they pushed forward and as a result were outnumbered and exposed at the back. It could have happened to any other team, except other teams would not have been this close to engineering a comeback as Liverpool was today. All this without their star-man Gerrard.

Fact of the matter is, they are what Aurelio said they are, comeback kings. Today, regardless of the result, they proved that in my eyes.

Conceding those kinds of goals always kills the tempo and concentration. It also happened for Chelsea after Aurelio's goal.

Yea, we've been mourning over our team's defensive games many times. Let's laugh at the others for a change :D

Sure, Liverpool should be proud of the two comebacks tonight. It shows quality and never say die atitude. If Juve does that i will be proud of the comebacks and the heart the boys showed.
But some of their defensive mistakes in this tie (both matches) were indeed laughable and i could never be proud of my team for conceding 7 goals in 180 minutes.
I laughed at my team on Saturday after the defensive 'brilliance' of our backline and i will certainly laugh at other teams for playing even worse defense.
