barca knew how to handle things without etoo and as expected Saviola And Gudjuinson scored in the 3-1 away win at Atletic belbao

yeah its a good thing m_elayyan, i was shocked barca were trailing but they sure do know how to handle pressure and turned things there side. saviola is a superb player. as for gudjuinson i still cant make up my mind on him i guess i will have to watch him more before i can say anything about him. any ways congrats on barca winning hope they keep going this way.:pint:

La Liga is definitely the most exciting league this year. To think only 4 out of these 5; Barcelona, Valencia, Sevilla, Athletico & Real will make the Champions League next year is scary.

The individuals at those clubs and even mentioning Zaragoza and Villarreal who both have interesting ideas makes the Spanish league the most impressive this year. EPL maybe has a title race but really they are bad teams given a chance by Chelsea this year. Serie A is null-and-void with the scandal results. The Bundesliga is terrible too with teams who seem to have lost motivation.

So how has La Liga done it this year? Ambition I think. Clubs have seen the example of Villarreal from the past two seasons. Teams can be created very cheaply with South American talent. Recycled players who have failed at the top clubs does not mean they are bad players. Barcelona have remained fairly static and Real have focussed surprisingly on the expensive European market (having Capello as manager will not move away from this). This has left the others to sign those young talents who always prefer Spain as their first European destination. Aguero this summer to Athletico is just one example of this type of move.

Yet over in England West Ham pulled off the biggest South American coup. But instead they are being treated as a plague. Mascherano and Tevez if they depart England in the Winter Break and move to Spain will no doubts be hits. That just about says it all with why Spain is currently ruling.

Early predictions:
- All Spanish Champions League final?
- Spain to win Euro 2008?

la liga is really impressive this year, really competitive. still i think out of all these "new" powers(atletico, sevilla, valencia, villareal) that valencia is by far the maturest one and the true rival to barca and real. this team has won the la liga and been twice in the cl final in the last 5,6 years. this year they have really re-inforced themselves. sevilla and atletico are still looking good but don't have the depth valencia has imo. i may be a bit biased but still when i look at valencia's team i see 2 quality players for most position's on the field. albelda, baraja and edu as mc's. silva, vicente, gavilan as left wingers, silva being able to play on both flanks. angulo, joaquin as right wingers, and with guys like villa and morientes upfront they really have some guys to make good use of those wing powers. i just don't see atletico or sevilla having that kind of variety and quality. valencia have a squad to challenge for the title, atletico and sevilla have one for a cl place tops.

all spanish cl final could happen but i wouldn't count on it, though i'd love to see valencia lift that cup. spain to win euro? i don't think so, they always manage to disapoint.

this season is looking very good as anticipated.
If valencia keep the pace, then there will be problems for Barca and real this season.

Cuz from now we could see that Barca and real r having many problems.
Barca with Rijjkard's rotation policy and Madrid's defense.

a dissappointing team for me is Zaragoza, they have such a good squad but they r not performing well.

Valencia hammer plucky Nastic

Two goals from David Villa and one each from Fernando Morientes and Miguel Angulo gave Valencia a comfortable 4-0 victory over Nastic in the Mestalla.

Valencia had more of the ball early on and made it count when Villa sprung the visitors' offside trap. He had a quick look at the assistant referee - he was marginally offside - before crossing to the near post, where Morientes had arrived to poke home.

Nastic coach Luis Cesar Sampedro took exception to the officiating and was sent from the dugout by referee Carlos Velasco Carballo for his protestations.

His team picked up after that and began to pass the ball around. The corners and crosses mounted up, but the balls lacked quality and they couldn't carve out a clear chance.

Ten minutes into the second half, Valencia went two up. Jaime Gavilan played a free kick low across the edge of the penalty area and Villa struck it first time into the far corner.

The goal was well worked and summed up Valencia's danger whenever they ventured forward.

In the 81st minute Gavilan was sent clear on the left. He skipped past goalkeeper Albano Bizzarri outside the box, and with the angle narrowing, coolly passed into the six yard box. Villa was there ahead of the defence to finish.

In the 86th minute substitute Angulo followed up after Edu tried to chip Bizzarri from close range to make it four.

The team from Tarragona deserved better but will need to improve if they are to preserve their top flight status, won last season for the first time in 56 years.

Valencia move up into second place in the table, level on points with Barcelona.

Ath. Madrid must be the most interesting team this term. If they get their game together I think they have enough quality to compete for the Champions League (to bad they didn't qualify). They might have their Messi in Aguero. They have their Gerrard in Maxi and their Deco in Maniche. They might have their Henry in Torres. Plus they got the perhaps best central defence in La Liga with Perea and Pablo.

Other than that the whole La Liga looks pretty great. Look at Zaragoza for example. Aimar really found his role immidiatly and the Milito brothers are fantastic. I have always liked Diogo as a player and I think its a shame we didn't sign him ahead of Madrid when we had the chance. Will also be nice to see D'Alessandro in an enviroment that should suit him better than Poopsmoth.

The former top teams Real Madrid(sic) and Valencia look a lot more organized this year. The wings of Valencia should scare the shit out of any top team out there today, plus the little Villa is a one of a kind striker, such a classy player.

Plus they got the outsiders Villarreal, Sevilla and Deportivo who can always chock and are always a joy to watch.

La Liga over the EPL 2006/07 for me. :)

i heard this soccer program on the radio, and alot of people are convinced that its valencia's title this year. they havea strong squad and they also have a good bench.

has anyone seen villareal, how r they doing? i think they r a really good team they have a strong squad and an alright bench. i think getting pires was the best transfer they did this summer, he is superb with them.

interesting situation there.Heard ppl r really pissed back home. Anyway i think they r showing in here on ESPN , not sure though.

last nite i was watching madrid lose :D, such a happy site even a cherry on the cake was ronaldo getting the red card and missing the clasico.
Cap was going crazy, just going mad screaming on the top of his head for almost the whole match and Rightfully so.Such a shameful performance.

then it was Athletico and recreativo, where sergio "kun" Aguero did as did the most famous Argetine of them all and he used his hand to score a goal :D

it looks like surprises wont stop this week in the liga, right now celta vigo is leading valencia 3-2. thanks to mistakes by the defense and canizaro was shaken after the thrid goal as the ball slipped in between his hands and then his legs. i guess valencia can do it they still have 15 mins to go until its game over. i wonder how barca will do tonight against sevilla.

barca won 3-1 against sevilla, i did'nt watch the game but obviously ronaldinho found his way back to his good preformances, as he scored the first 2 goals and the messi got the third goal. now barcaleads the table standings after valencia's surprise defeat to celta vigo who honestly deserved there victory.
