Meh, during the 90's early 2000's he was the best around (WC 2002 anyone?). He was also a great leader and i dunno i tend to empathize with the arrogant side of the game i.e Mourinho

IFFHS did their statto thing for the last 20 years a while back:

1. Gianluigi Buffon Italia 87
2. Iker Casillas España 73
3. Peter Schmeichel Danmark 69
4. Oliver Kahn Deutschland 62
5. Edwin van der Sar Nederland 60
6. José Luis Félix Chilavert Paraguay 58
7. Walter Zenga Italia 55
8. Petr Čech Česká Republika 50
9. Michel Preud’homme Belgique 43
10. Claudio André Taffarel Brasil 40

Can't really disagree, personally I'd swap Casillas with Schmeichel though.

I've seen a goalkeeping performance in a WC like Oliver Kahn in 2002. He was absolute class in that tournament and carried the German team to the final imo.

Even though he fucked it up in the final, which made me happy :D

I was rather sad :(

i wanted him to play in the 2006 WC i wouldn't have cared if they lost since i don't support germany but i would loved to see him play more not that 3rd place match and he had a good game in that one.

Mad Jens deserved his spot in 2006 after that season he had with us though

Mad Jens and Emanuel Eboue are two of my favorite Arsenal players :touched:

Because we have Alex Song.

I think we should be going for a more box to box midfielder. I mean even if Song isn't a world beater, would you rather bench Song and keep Diaby/Denilson on the pitch, or would you keep Song and bench one of those amateurs?

Well i would say we are overspending on a player i don't rate that highly.

Not something you hear everyday though, Arsenal overspending, so it might not be a bad thing afterall, a step in the right direction and all

So do I. I think he's a nice player to watch, he's quite talented, but he's terrible at decision making and he hasn't improved on that aspect at all over the years, i think this is the best he can get, and its just not good enough.

Its like he's sworn to dribble when he should pass, and pass when he should shoot.
