I can't remember. I have already forgotten last year's EPL.

Anyway, this was England v Spain.

Serie A is just a bit shit at the moment, so shouldn't really be compared to those two.

Right now, obviously.

I mean does anyone doubt that the EPL is between Chelsea and Man U, Liga is between Real and Barcelona, and Serie A is between Inter and (insert mediocre team).
And it's making it all dull.

I hope the new financial rules will enable the sort of UEFA Cup standard teams to keep their good players a bit longer and maybe have run at the title once in a while.

Indeed. And perhaps curb the "super" club phenomenon.

Vermaelen is definitely out of the Chelsea game. Fucking great, now we have to play the mediocre duo Squillachi and Koscielny, here comes another thrashing :sergio:

I don't even want Cesc to play anymore, i'd rather we kept him for games we can win.

Moreover that fucking clown Fabianski played well today, that could mean that Wenger might play him against Chelsea after Almunia's howlers last week. That is the worst news ever for an Arsenal fan, if Fabianski plays, and the mediocre French centerbacks play in front of them, i don't know why i'd bother watching the game.

Fuck Wenger and fuck his Frenchies
:weee:

Spain, as far as I know, doesn't claim to have the most competitive league in the world, unlike England.
They don't?

Of course they do, do you think Marca and el Mundo Deportivo say the EPL is the best? Spanish football fans always say the Liga is the best league, here in the Arab world its the perception of most fans that football ends at Real and Barcelona and that Spanish league is the best in the world. Which is not necessarily wrong mind you.

Also, you underestimate Spanish arrogance.
I

All I'm saying is that the English are always banging on about how competitive the EPL is.
Perhaps.

I don't see how they could say it's competitive, since most seasons it's hardly any more competitive than the SPL.

They could legitimately claim it to be the best league at the moment, though.
About the spanish media, Fred is completely right, the spanish brag about as much or maybe even more than the English, their tv broadcast commercial even say "estás viendo Liga BBVA, la mejor liga del mundo" which translates in "You're watching BBVA league, best league in the world". And don't even get me started on spanish newspapers/websites.

And that seems to be the conception people have in the spanish speaking world, they all believe spanish primera is the best league and that the best teams in the world are barcelona and real. It's pretty common, actually.

The Serie A is not the best league in the world, player-wise and team-wise, but it's certainly the most interesting one for me.

If it wasn't for El Clásico in Spain and clashes between the big 4 teams in England, I wouldn't dare watching them.

Are you talking about the Spanish or the English now?

What about the Italian though, its less competitive than the Scottish in the past few years, as for the last 4 years, we all know Inter will win it before the season even starts.
Correct, but we all know United and Chelsea will win the league season in season out. You can say that about every league. Lets be honest we've had this discussion numerous times before and it never amounts to anything. Outside the TOP 4 in England is extremely overrated and not better than Italy in anyway.
