yea and it's basically the same situation, a bigger club poaching a young talent from the smaller team...the soltution needs to be across all levels, not just between English clubs
Speaking of which, it can't be healthy for the league that a handful of clubs commandeer all the best young players in the country (Juve by far the most guilty), and make them available to small clubs on unacceptable conditions like loans. For years now clubs like Parma and Siena live on the breadcrumbs of others and they know that any player who is a success with them is gone the next year. The best they can do is buy old players noone will want. So much for youth.

well the status quo has been set over a long period of time...we are the top club in the nation, it is only natural for us to demand the best talent, and that the best talent would want to play for us...that being said, a lot of young promising players have been mismanaged over the years

Mostly they deploy a 4-4-2, with two central mids and two wingers. Depending on the game, it could turn into a 4-3-3 sometimes. With the left winger(Robinho, Bellamy or Petrov) moving upfront, and SWP(who is their right winger) slotting in central mid. But it is primarily a classic 4-4-2 that they deploy.

Today both Robinho and Tevez are probably going to miss the game. So i'm guessing this is how their lineup will look like:

-------------------------Given-------------

----Richards-------Toure------Lescott----Bridge

------------------Ireland------Barry

---------SWP--------------------------Petrov

---------------Bellamy------Adebayor

The thing with this formation is, that Ireland is being forced to play deeper than he likes to, which has affected him negatively this season. I watched their games against Wolves and Blackburn and i noticed that Ireland isn't half as dangerous as he used to be now that he is playing deep. He's an attacking midfielder imo not a central mid.

If you're talking about this match alone, then i agree. But if you mean they should always play with a lone striker then i don't agree. They have way too much quality strikers to play with just one.
