I'm just waiting for the 6+5 rule. Good luck finding 6 Englishmen, "Top 4".
:agree: best solution is the 6 + 5 rule. It will solve many problems in european football right now and we'll see a more balanced european competition. But guess what, i really doubt it will ever happen....

Italians: 'Brit clubs steal players'
Sunday 6 September, 2009
Italian clubs claim the ban on Chelsea for poaching a teenager is just the tip of the iceberg and urge UEFA to stop the “robbery” of players from academies.

The Stamford Bridge side has been barred from making any purchases until January 2011 after they were found guilty of pushing Gael Kakuta to break his Lens contract.

This is a familiar issue for many Serie A sides, as Roma, Lazio and Parma were famously furious that homegrown talents like Davide Petrucci, Federico Macheda, Arturo Lupoli and Giuseppe Rossi were tempted to England before they could sign a professional contract.

“Luciano Spalletti rang up Sir Alex Ferguson and asked him to halt Petrucci’s transfer,” insisted Giallorossi director Bruno Conti (pictured).

“Ferguson replied he would do something, but we never heard from him again. United are still behaving this way, it’s not sport and Ferguson is not acting in a sportsmanlike manner.

“The law still allows clubs to do what they want, but Michel Platini is talking to our Federation to resolve the problem.”

Empoli were the most recent 'victims’ of allegedly underhand tactics when they saw 16-year-old Alberto Massacci and 18-year-old Manuel Pucciarelli picked up by Manchester last month.

“We are not happy. Manchester United do this kind of thing a lot because they know our regulations in Italy, whereby we cannot put our youth players on lucrative contracts,” moaned Empoli director Giuseppe Vitale in the Mail on Sunday.

“They didn't speak to us about our players. It is not right and they know it is not right. Platini must change the law so that when a big club come in and try to rob - and that is the right word, rob - us of our players, they must pay us a decent amount of money.”

Reggina have not forgotten the loss of 15-year-old defender Vincenzo Camilleri to Chelsea, reportedly picked up from the training ground in a helicopter.

"I think FIFA and UEFA should always punish clubs like Chelsea who steal players from smaller clubs,” President Pasquale 'Lillo’ Foti told the News of the World.

"In Chelsea's case, their arrogance is quite obvious. And with the Kakuta case I can easily see the same procedure which they used with us. Someone should stop Chelsea and all the clubs which follow the same strategy.

"Chelsea took away one of our best players, who had been at Reggina three seasons. They didn't care that Reggina spent money and time on Camilleri.

"They didn't give us anything back. It was a shame, a serious scandal when you think neither UEFA nor FIFA sanctioned Chelsea.

"I have to say in my experience in football most of these cases come from England. And the reason is pretty simple, a Premier League club can offer a professional contract to a young players one year before Italy can.

"It means that if the family agree to move abroad - in this case, to London - there is no chance for us to keep the players. But this is something which should be changed."

It was really, really pathetic dive.

But let's not fool ourselves, Serie A is divers league, full of actors. They can make 100 minutes long compilation of diving right now.
yeah but Serie A clubs and their player do not bitch, whine, moan and complain about other professionals doing it

The difference is that the English pretend their league is 'clean'.

Other leagues just accept it happens and get on with it.
exactly:tup:

Ok, I don't like shrek, but this wasn't a dive. He just lost his balance.
yet he still waved his arms about looking for a penalty, very honest, and once it was awarded he could have told the ref that he has simply lost his footing and the player never touched him, very honest, England could have deliberately missed the unjust penalty, very honest....

like i said before, a few days before this game Rooney came out and dais he was far too honeast a player to ever dive or try to cheat a ref......funny how one mans honesty is another mans cheating

frankly, it's not news that this poaching happens everywhere, any time that there is a big club dealing with a a smaller club, there's a good chance that it will happen, sometimes the player in question is a top prospect, sometimes merely a solid player. There's no doubt that the big english clubs are the biggest offenders, and the laws of course make it very easy for them to do it without any objection. It takes a special case where Chelsea fucked up, and actually broke laws, for it to become a huge deal. I've been following this issue for a couple years, and while there are periodic op-eds, "special reports" etc about the problem, only now has it become something that everyone is talking about. Which can only be a good thing, since FIFA really needs to make countries, England in particular, create and enforce laws which prohibit, discourage, and limit this youth poaching. Luckily, youth players from South America can't move until a certain age (17 I believe) otherwise, I have no doubt that every academy in England would be half brazilian or argentinian. While I'm not really an England fan, for their fans, surely they should realize that it's simply not in the clubs interest at this time to develop local talent, when they can import best young european players for tiny fees. If nothing changes, then their national team is completely fucked. While many people on this forum would love that, I would rather England revamp their youth system (another issue) and the clubs do a better job of producing local talent, and the national team actually become a real international force.

Just think about this.

You wouldn't let your 16 year old son move to another country to work for Dell or another company. Like it or not being a football is a 24/7 JOB , matches training etc, nobody under the age of 18 is aloud to work in the conditions of a footballer, thats why i fucking hate Wenger, only 18+ in the senior game plz
