Don't count on that. If Ranieri wanted a new full back then he'd ask for one already. We have 2+2 flank defenders and unless one of them gets a serious injury then don't expect a new LB/RB.

We have to wait till tomorrow and see for how long will Chiellini be out. If it's a month or two then i doubt we'll buy anyone. If it's 5 or 6+ months then we'll certainly get someone depending on Ranieri's opinion of Mellberg, Legro and Knezevic.
If Ranieri thinks Mellberg-Legro are good enough to be our starting Cbs then we'll buy someone mediocre and cheap just so we'll have 4 Cbs. If not, then hopefully we'll get a better player (if we can find one in late August at all).
If it's 3 or 4 months then i'm not sure what are we going to do.

Hopefully its a week or two of rest. Let's think positive here.

Stendardo played well for us against good teams

Unhealthy habit, especially when we all know Chiellini made his partners look better than what they happen to be. And the most difficult match Stendardo had to play was against Napoli, not Inter or Roma. The rest were against mediocre sides such as Siena, so you don't really have enough to form an opinion with what you have. Gotta use Lazio matches as well.

But if you want to waste millions of Euros on a shitty player be my guest, just do it at another club.

Lugano is a very good defender, to bad he has already played in CL Qualifying. I think we can get Lugano if we spend 15 million euros. Fenerbahce rate him at 15 million euros. I think that is a little high but the guy can easily be a starter next to Cheilleni and would make our defence a little stronger. Lets just hope Secco can get a brain and splash the cash on a world class defender.
