no surprise there Reb!

the only surprise for me is A- the length of the leak 70 minutes and the fact money is being used to buy people like no tomorrow.

with that being said, let me tell you why this doesn't come as a surprise. the simple fact is Uae, and saudi have interests in making sure the person at top that replaces mubarak is the same follower, not that morsy was a rebel or anything mind you he was dying for them to see that they can use him too!! the qatar's are also in this game, only they backed the other side i,e Muslim brotherhood. the only two in the political sphere in Egypt were the military and the Mb and they will reconcile just stay tuned, i remember when turk and i used to argue, i told him they will reconcile and the only losers in the events were the people who were used and still are being used.

the gulf states have no interest in any revolution, for them this is a headache next door that needs to be controlled as it is in there best interest. don't even for a minute think just because Al jazeerah tries to play a role that Qatar actually respects or even cares about democracy off course not, all it cares about is making sure it has influence over who ever is heading Egypt!! if you control Egypt you pretty much have your interests secured in the region specially when every one knows that the conflict has moved from the middle east and is heading towards china. this is my opinion. i might give a clearer account over the weekend but i think this was to be expected.

these leaks really show a side i always hated about how Egypt is ruled, i find it disgusting that no one gives the minutest regard to the image of the country. begging for money like this is so humiliating for a country with Egypt history and role.

I don't really understand how that site finds that Sisi's position is better than Erdogan's these days. Sisi is going from a scandal to another one killing his people and stealing all donations coming from the Gulf. How is that guy better than a person who made his country a strong economical country?

with regards to the ongoing issue in Sinai, stumbled on this piece which is well written. Note: i made a mistake earlier when i stated there was no economical package to develop Sinai, turns out there is, however as i stated earlier and as the writer of this article points out it comes pretty late ( take into consideration for the past 30 years nothing of substance can be said about development in infra structure in northern Sinai. people like X who have been to Sinai are aware that the southern part of Sinai looking on to the red sea is developed due to the presence of touristic destinations however the northern parts of Sinai that look on to the Mediterranean sea and bordering Palestine have been pretty much in the dark ages ever since Egypt took over after the 73 war with isreal and the peace treaty. also it must be mentioned that the ethnic people of Sinai mainly Bedouin have been subjected to random detaining by the security forces, and they are not allowed to register pieces of land. in many cases and due to it being a Bedouin culture the land they hold claim too has been in the family or in the tribe for many decades however they can't claim full ownership. also the egyptain military maintains a vast corridor in the center of Sinai for the army to maneuver i,e its strategic and are strictly military zones that no one in Egypt disputes.

i would recommend Sharem however i've been there just the once and the old grumpy man in me just can't see whats cool about it

my less grumpy friends love sharem due to the night club scene over there specially that on several occasions big name DJ's play their tunes in clubs located there ( electronic/trance/house music are not my cup of tea hence why i am not fascinated) their beaches are meh at best, pretty stony.

I've never been to these resorts you're mentioning. I've been to Aqaba of course, and never liked it.

I've been to Egypt for the first time in my life before 9 months. It was in Cairo, and I really did not like it too. I know I seem to hate everything but it is a fact I can not deny.

I'm guessing you had the bad luck of being in Cairo during the summer, if yes. add to the above the fact Cairo is humid and especially the nearer you are to the Nile, the problem with humidity and Cairo apart from the inconvenience is the simple fact Cairo is dirty and i don't mean just garbage i mean the fact the air in Cairo is filled with dust particles. humidity plus dust in the air = you feel literally sticky and its just unbearable.

i personally like Cairo but yes i have to say i agree it takes a lot for you to see sth good in it. however the places i recommended Hust are very different Abed there the weather is great, its very clean, ecologically there is no air pollution, and due to these cities being small there is no traffic jams, and no noise pollution. Cairo due to its sheer size and the fact its home to 20million people is an ecological catastrophe.

It was in June. And I was in Zamalek in a hotel on the Nile River, so I was very new to the humidity knowing that I never lived in a city that is near a sea or even a river. Desert has already owned me for ever, it seems
