May I ask what the reason is for the disdain with Cavani?
I like Cavani. He just has all the hallmarks of a player who found his pinnacle at one club/system and it's only downhill from there.

Like Diego at Bremen and Tiago at Lyon. Diego, Tiago, Juve, Lyon, and Bremen all would have been better off if they were never traded.

I expect the same with Cavani, Napoli, and Juve.

no fricking way, cavani's biggest assets are his psychological and physical superiority which on their own would guarantee at the very least a good spell at any team, add to that his technique and flair for gol and this guy is simply a monster, best striker in the world right now. Theres nothing about him thats even remotely comparable to diego let alone that toilet dwelling bitch tiago.

Uruguay benchwarmer and Palermo meh. Enough said. The man travels far worse than Guinness outta Dublin.

I'd love to have Messi at Juve, but not if we pay through the nose and wind up with a glorified Cristian Brocchi.

cavani had as much chance of benching the guy who got uruguay to the WC semis as pepe has at winning the player of the year, as for your second point: pirlo @ inter
But I watched him before my very own eyes at the WC semis. Sure, I should judge him on more than that. But I saw what I saw, and seeing him in real life under pressure says a lot more than TV or YouTube videos.

Not to mention his Copa America performances. For a guy who is the best striker in the world, Forlan and Suarez both make better arguments on at least one team.

He's got more than twice as many posts as the second place. It's like if Barca were playing in the Ukranian League or something.

Dude, he played wider right for Palermo, in the RWF or RF position, plus he was 20-23 years old at Palermo. I don't think 13 and 14 goals is bad for a 22-23 year old in Serie A, do you?
It certainly not bad but not great either, being just 22-23 at the time isn't an excuse. If we're going to pay 40+ millions on the guy then he better be exceptionally great. A Player like neymar who just turned 20 already have scored 100 goals, Pato manage to score 27 goals in "serie A" when he was just 19 years old. Our very own Trezeguet was the top scorer of the French league When he was just 20.

The way I see it, the player should either be exceptionally great from a very young age (18-19-20) or should consistently have a great goals/games Ratio in "atleast" 2 different clubs before spending such a huge fee on him, Cavani doesn't fit in either.

Thank you
