Mathematics and Science are a progressive process, compare what we know today to what we knew few hundred of year ago and again, being unable to explain the full picture TODAY shouldn't make us discard science as our method to explain universe and most importantly shouldn't make us believe supernatural explanations just because we can't explain everything today.

I actually understand your points and your questions of "how he created them. What did he actually do? What were the raw materials?" but religion will tell you that he is the creator who can create anything by just naming the thing he wants to create.

The real questions to be raised from the answer "God created them" is ""Who created God?" or "How did God comes into existence" or "Why did he created the universe?".

But if there is a why, there is certainly basis for a discussion of intelligent design. If there is a why, then we are purposefully created by something. And my question stands, what gives people the impression that there is a "why". Just reading the news for 30 minutes gives you an idea of how chaotic and random this place is. There, no mathematics, no higher philosophy or anything, simple observation.
I wonder if theists will write that off too as scientism, since it's an empirical way of viewing things?
