Not at all. The complexity of our planet points to a deliberate Designer who not only created our universe, but sustains it today.
The neccessary complexity of such a designer who is capable of designing such a complex world points to that he had to be designed himself, i.e. that he couldnt come from nothing. And that means he isnt the beginning of everything like religions say.

And if it possible that god exists out of nothing, why isnt it possible that the universe, which is of lesser complexity than god, exists without being created by god?

Considering how imperfect and unstable this place is (earthquakes, floods, volcanoes, bird flu, mad cow disease, the plague etc) I'd say he's more of a graffiti artist.

How would anyone know that god is more complex than the universe?

The logic is that in order to create a "perfect" universe and control it as an omnipotent being, god neccessarily has to be more complex than the universe.

Then the question is of odds: where are the odds higher, that the universe exists without a creator or that the god who created the universe exists without its own creator.
