Many? How many is that exactly? What happens is that mostly children become less religious (pracitce religion less), less often that they completely disown religion and even less often that they convert to another religion. So I wouldnt really say its many many children.

Even if that is true. They are not following the same religion as their parents are they. So therefore the premise that people's religions are theirs because of their parents doesn't hold water. Only in 3rd world countries is this true

I dissagree. There are always those that will convert to another religion, but that is a very, very small number that is an exception to the rule. If they stay in the same religion but just practice it less rigorously that is not really changing anything. And luckily, the number of those completely giving up religion is somewhat higher.

So as a rule you are born into a religion (with a very, very small number of exceptions) or you wisen up and become a non-believer

My parents are roman Catholic and I'm a non denominational Christian/ messianic Jew

The Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life released its Religious Landscape Survey states that 41% of people were found to have switched their religion at some point in life. Unfortunately they don't have a comparative breakdown of individuals who broke away from the family religion versus people who switched as a family. There are a few exceptions right which are of course so few in number that are negligible.

I think what the pic says is true except that it's not reason enough to change/stop practicing religions.

Lol you know what I mean. I was so disillusioned by the dogmatic approach to Jesus that it didn't jive with my reading I scripture and church history. So for a while in my late teens early 20's I was agnostic really. I knew that something was there just not what. I then slowly started to search and seek and I continue my journey today although Jesus is a def for me now

Thanks it is the truth. Why does belief in God automatically equal religion ? Just because most believers follow a religion doesn't make the belief in God synonymous
