Are you kidding me??

I'm not discussing the DEFINITION (!) of god anymore.
who's definition of god?

Is it Thor? Jehovah? Allah? Zeus?

http://www.godchecker.com/ has a list of most/all gods "known" to humans throughout our history.

Lets start from the beginning. Which one of these 2000 + gods are we talking about?

If none, please define the term god.

The best thing is that if it is all fact, THIS MOTHER FUCKER thinks men have one less rib than women!

:lol2:
Yeah, and another great one is when Jesus infected pigs with demons and then cast them out into the sea. That makes a whole lot of sense. :lol2:

The funny thing about the three big monotheistic religions is, if you think about it, they must all be worshipping the same god.

Not all the stories are literally real obviously. Most are though, Jesus healing the sick etc..

It's not me with my head stuck up my ass, it's you. I am calmly answering your questions when interestingly enough, you are getting a little too emotional. One would think it should be the exact opposite.
I was referring that post to our dear friend Azzurri (not you), whos only contributions to debates is making puny little childish oneliners.

Your problems isnt that you have your head stuck up your ass to say the least, but how you use your head when its firmly unstuck. You come off so hopeless that pehaps burying your head up your ass would be an improvement? I mean, your use of the word fact and history is so utterly bizzare I dont even know where to start. As I said, how is something like the story of the Babel tower, and Moses parting the red seas, a fact?

I already said the Bible isn't literal. It does have historic stories. Jesus being born in beith Lahem in Palestine, do you not believe that?
Jesus was born there, therefore him dying, resurrecting, being three-in-one, parting the red sea, talking bushes and snakes is all historical fact.

There is a city of london mentioned in harry potter, therefore harry poter is a historical book.

What you believe, and what you can prove, are entirely different things. Which is not a problem, your average man of faith say they believe in it, they dont bother with saying its historical fact this or that.

What I have issue with is your use of the word history. You mean you can date real life times to everything said in the bible? They are all historical facts? Do you even know of the meaning of fact? Facts isnt something you believe in, its something you prove, pinpoint exactly.

Now you said the bible is of historic facts (The frigging Pope wouldnt say that, he would say he believes in it, not can prove it, whats there to believe in if you can prove it?), will this be something you will take back later and say you never meant that, when you are shown for the bullshitter you are?

I dont mind you believing whatsoever (I believe in God myself), but twisting the use of history, I really find it extremely wack as someone who is fond of everything relating to history.
You moron. Someone said that the Bible is a fictional book. That's not true.

What about the story of Jesus's Crucifiction, I belive it to be true, I would be insulted if someone compared that to a Harry Potter novel for example. The bible is not fictional, that's all Im saying.

On a side note; Burke is the man.

Do you care to say more historical facts? Because you started off with saying the bible is a history book, with facts, like its the norm of the whole book. Now you are backtracking to that his birthplace is a historic fact, any others? Him turning water to wine is a historical fact, isnt that what you said?

1) Jesus was crucified like Haminey Granger, just like the historical Harry Potter book foretold.

2) Thanks, brother!

THE BIBLE IS HISTORY. We are in 2008, that's 2008 AD, 2008 years after christ. How can you deny the Bible of being part of history, and yes, certain aspects of the bible are facts, such as the geological location, christ's disciples etc....

I never said the story of the Babel tower should be taken literally, that's absurd.

If someone says the the whole bible is of fiction, then you correct them accordingly in whatever way, but you DO NOT do it by implying everything the bible are historical facts, thats beyond massive exaggeration.

There are ALOT of stories in the Bible, many aloof and unreal ones used as symbolism stories meant to teach values and lessons in life. Alot of them are ancient story telling techniques, few people focus on the actual messages of them, but instead take the larger then life way they are told too litterally.

Actually, it has been HISTORICALLY PROVEN that Jesus probably died in like 66 AD (Anno Domini, not "after death" like you Jesus freaks try to say.)

So you are saying its history because the book is 2000 years old? Well, thats quite a different thing from you implying pretty all the contents of it are historical facts. You did say Jesus turning water to wine is a historical fact. Like it has been proven. How is that THAT different from the story of Babel tower.

Yes, to me it is a historical fact. I'm a Christian and that's what I believe, I believe miracles are possible. That wasn't meant to be a metaphor. In fact, the act of turning water into wine can actually be located here in Lebanon, the sight is exactly how the Bible describes it to be.

No, no, no, you DO NOT know the defenition of historical fact. Its not something you choose for yourself, thats a historical fact only for you but not the rest (thats how people end up in asylums). Its needs to be proven to be a historical fact, PLEASE PLEASE differentiate historical fact and BELIEF.

You believe Jesus resurrected after his death, that he turned water to wine etc. But to say its a historical fact, you have to PROVE IT. Do you see the difference? its quite BIG, no?

Yes Osman, I know that. There are also factual stories in the bible.
