I wonder if we put in a bid for Robben could we get him? Madrid will defn be tossing alot of players this summer and while Robben has been great they have been saying Madrid are better without him. I know they will bid for Ribery and eventually will get Ronaldo so maybe we have a chance.

He is better than SIlva and can play both on the right or left. His injuries are the only issue[/QUOTE]

unfortunately his injuries come pretty often
although theres no denying his skill and talent

He is a tricky winger but having all that flair and skills and not being able to perform them consistently on the field is as good as none.

If Juve had to take somebody from Real, I will prefer VDV, Drenthe or Sneijder before Robben.

Cassano tops Juve list

Juventus are indulging in a bit of retail therapy after Tuesday's Champions League exit, identifying Antonio Cassano as their No 1 transfer target.

The Bianconeri are eager to find a player who can take them to the next level and Cassano is the man in their sights, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

However, if Juventus are to sign Cassano they will have to clarify the position of club captain Alessandro Del Piero.

The 34-year-old's contract expires in June 2010 and he is believed to want first team football until then as he seeks a place in Italy's World Cup squad.

The arrival of Cassano would undoubtedly put Del Piero's place in jeopardy and has provoked Juventus into considering other options.

Cassano himself has to plan his next move very carefully if Italy Coach Marcello Lippi is to take him seriously for South Africa 2010.

Lippi recently said that Cassano's chances of earning a place in his World Cup squad depend on his progress at club level.

By that he meant Cassano must play for a great club with regular Champions League football like Juventus, Inter or Milan.

The Bianconeri have already earmarked four other possible candidates that could, unlike Cassano, co-exist with Del Piero.

David Silva, the Valencia and Spain winger, is a favourite among the Juventus directors, as is Werder Bremen's Diego and Napoli's Marek Hamsik.

Udinese trequartista Fabio Quagliarella has also been highlighted as a cheaper option and rounds off the wish list.

why no to Hamšík?

Yes I prefer Silva, Diego, Ribery and even Cassano over him, but the guy is young, proven in Seria A, strong enough and has a bright future ahead of him. I really wouldn´t mind him as a Neddy replacement, he can co-exist with DP and Gio.

He's costly and has major consistency issues and I personally don't think he can make it at a bigger club at this point of time..

I have a feeling its going to be Diego as Ranieri seems to be open to the 4312 formation.

Honestly i don't care who comes in as long as Gio is in the plans for next season more extensively.

the good thing is that ranieri showed on wednesday that hes willing to change the formation
i dont know if that was just to surprise chelsea, but at least he did it
we ll see what happens

He changed it out of necessity, not out of tactical brilliance.

It remains to be seen what will happen once everybody is health, but probability is behind me when saying I think he'll revert to the stupid 4-4-2 again.

doing what he has done at Napoli and the fact he is only 21 makes me thing otherwise. He is far ahead of where Lampard was as a player at that age for example.

Man City are supposedly talking to Valencia about Villa.

If Valencia get a heap of cash for Villa, it would make Silva much harder to get.

Eitherway i think both are gone.

But Villa is much harder to replace for them than SIlva. They have no real striker behind Villa (Moro is out of contract in the summer). They were fine without Silva for the first half of the season with Mata, Joaquin and Vicente

They haven't disscused the fee - yet; I doubt he'd want to move there for just the cash..
I agree, but it isn't impossible and it will drive his price up.

If Valencia get enough money for one of them they might be able to keep the other.

If they miss out on the CL, I would think both will move.
