Maybe Diego is more talented and less injury prone but Rafael fits Juve's character much more.
How? Diego is the one known more for being quiet and calm, while VDV though not a bad guy has a history of being bit immature, egoistic and a primadonna.

Or you didnt mean personal character but player characterism? Diego is a classic playmaker who would make our whole team tick and run. VDV also great, but is a more direct attacking midfielder, individually dangerous, but not a playmaker to influence how the whole team plays like Diego.

Either one is fine by me, even I for sure prefer Diego. And I dont think Diego is so unrealistic signing, tougher to sign then VDV, but doable.

That's what I exactly meant and that's the same reason I don't want Ronaldinho. Juventus are no longer the team that builds a squad around one certain player.

What do you mean? How is that a bad thing? A playmaker who makes the whole team tick and influences our flow and creativity alot is exactly what we need, and what many teams have and need. Other players can make a difference too, but an influential playmaker who pulls the string is needed much more then just a direct attacker like VDV.

Like the horrible game I just saw, we would have badly needed a player like diego who takes charge creatively and pulls the needed passes, instead like how we are now of not single player who can take creative iniative on his own and just makes bad desperate crosses. Sala was our playmaker this game...

Man, who needs Diego, when we have Del Piero who will carry us on his back for the next 5-7 years :wallbang:
that's irony indeed, but as far as i know our board is planning to get either diego or van der vaart.

but you can forget about such move in winter, don't forget that besides juve there is also hamburg and bremen.

As much as i would want diego to show his creativity in a juve-shirt, i don't believe he'll come. Werder already had to give away 2 starting-eleven players (unwillingly); Borowski (to Bayern) and Andreasen (in England i think). They aim for the championship, i don't believe they will let go all of their players because they won't even really "need" the money. As far as the price of diego is i'd say; pay them their 30mio, if they really are dumb enough to give him away for that price. He really does have the eye for his team-mates, scores, can dribble, can hold the ball.... what more do you want. i rate him far higher that 30 mio.

It's not wether Werder wants to sell him, of course they don't, it's wether he wants to continue wearing their shirt.

this is why juve will not be in the top 4 , this stupid coach in love with defensive players like Sissoko and dont want players like VDV or diego
Why people do you think that if Sissoko comes, means no playmaker will come too ( in the summer time ) we can play 4 3 3 .....Sissoko in the midfield triangular and VDV or Diego in the Attacking part one.....
