Juve Should Buy Diego - Zico

Zico has spoken of his admiration for Diego and he has told Italian media that the Werder Bremen player would be a good investment

Brazilian Legend Zico believes Juventus will return to the greatness they once were if the Bianconeri sign Diego.

The Werder Bremen star has been linked with the Old Lady many times this season and Zico insists it will be a good move for the Bianconeri.

It is believed that Diego is valued at 35m Euros and this would be the price Juventus would have to pay to secure his services.

“I’m not surprised they have valued him so much, he is a great player who along with Robinho wrote history back in Brazil with Santos. He came to Europe and won the Champions League with Porto and now he has earned a place with the Selecao,” Zico told Tuttosport.

“I would advise any team with ambition to go for him, he is a champion full stop, a champion who knows how to win.”

Another player who plies his trade in Germany is Rafael Van Der Vaart. The Dutchman has also been heavily linked with a move to La Vecchia Signora but Zico believes Diego would be the better player to buy.

“The Dutchman is a good player, but if you are asking who I would buy then you already know my answer. I can assure you that whoever buys Diego won’t be wasting their money.”

tfeh...tell that to Secco
thats the problem bro, secco is lost.................................

but once again his price is a bit too steep. i usually read the articles and read some comments by teh people who read it and some people actually believe juventus has the funds to pull this one ( i personally dont know but i hope they are willing to get him to juve for next summer and that will be our first world class signiture!!)

i agree with zico, diego is more likely to succeed in italy
i dunno they both seem real good to me. i would not be able to say VDV would be more likely to fail at juve than Diego. and if we got Diego he would be harder to integrate because VDV we can just stick at LM where Nedved is... Diego though..

But i would take either one. VDV is defn worth the price... i am not sure Diego is worth his because it is huge.

We could get VDV and Amauri ( plus a bit more cash or a player) for the price of Diego ... or better yet .. VDV and Zapata?

Juve: Caccia a Diego, pronti venti milioni

After Thursday's meeting, Juve have made decided on their number one objective for June: the playmaker of Bremen Diego Ribas da Cunha. To get him Juve have decided to put out 20 million Euros, even though the first offer will be of 15 million. It will be a hard objective as the talent he has at his age(22 years old) makes him one of the most sought after players in Europe. Knowing this day would come Bremen have put the minimum price at 30 million: even thoguh then they will have to find someone to replace him. Now Juve have told Bremen they are interested, and this was their first move

I like this part, from an article of goal.com.

The current favourite is Brazilian playmaker Diego. His club Werder Bremen value him at a monstrous €30m, however it seems the Tinkerman would rather splash out this kind of money, than risk a repeat of last summer’s disastrous transfer campaign when Tiago Mendes and Sergio Almiron were bought for a combined €22m.

I thinkits a smokescreen for VDV.

We were linked with VDV the most and he said he could see himself playing in our colours.... Diego was a dream.

Then our management say they dont like a player that talks to much, suddenly VDV says theres no contact from Juve and he reveals an offer from Valencia.

Now all of the sudden every paper are linking us with Diego.

i really would luv to sign Diego, he is truly great and everyone seems to be saying to buy him eg Luca Toni, Zico etc. i just hope Secco listens!

the worrying thing that Zico said is “I would advise any team with ambition to go for him, he is a champion full stop, a champion who knows how to win.”

does Secco have the ambition to buy him?if we want to be at the top again we need to make one or two great signings!

Let's use the money from the sale of Tiago to Tottenham Hotspur, reported to be £9m (€12.5m), towards getting Diego now and also bring Mellberg over now. Aston Villa have received a cash bid for Mellberg of £1.5m from Bolton Wanderers, it was reported yesterday.

Our managment espicially Secco is nowhere near that smart.. I see VDV drifting away more and more and come on people get real about Diego
