Juventus To Launch €20m Bid For Diego?
Juventus are once again ready to try and swoop for Werder Bremen midfielder Diego according to Calciomercato.

The Bianconeri have been keen on signing the Brazilian all summer and although they have been distracted by other targets, Diego has resurfaced on the Old Lady’s radar.

Calciomercato claims the Turin based outfit are ready to swing into action if they make the group stages of the Champions League, which is more than likely.

The Bianconeri will receive €30m if they get through and reports suggest Claudio Ranieri will be using some of the money to invest in more players.

Alberto Aquilani and Dejan Stankovic seem distant targets but Diego seems easier to get to.

It is believed Werder are looking for between €16m and €20m for their asset and Juve may come in with a decent offer to tempt the player.

The Old Lady is aiming high this year and success in Europe is their main priority. Diego would be a welcome addition to the side as he offers great fire power as well creativity, vision and skill in the middle of the park.

Salvatore Landolina, Goal.com

Probably BS, but if not it would be the best transfer to close the transfer market with.

It is just roumor but if this happens, then we will have an unforgottable season! I realy like this guy and I realy hope to see him in Juve before Real go for him!

He is even better that Aquilani ... IMO. If Bremen wants 16-20 then we should not hesitate ... Come on Juve!

It's no go...I watchd DSF last night (Bundesliga kick off) and the commentator had askd Klaus Allofs (general manager) if he could sell Diego to Atletico Madrid or is there a chance...and he said "NO WAY, he is staying put"...

get over it guys, diego won't come! At least not this year; there is absolutely NO SIGN for him to come, NONE!!
- He has a contract til 2011 or so
- Werder repeatedly said there is absolutely no way to let him go NOW
- We don't play AMC, he'd have to fall back more, and i wonder if he can do that/wants to that
- We have giovinco playing in a similar position
- He will cost way more than 16 millions. i mean he's 23 and a hot prospect, he can still be sold next year, or the after that for way more
- IF he is sold, you can be sure that people like chelsea, real or barca will be knocking on werder's door

Just get over this one guys... maybe in a year's time or so, but now it's impossible, and i'd bet money on that!

diego is class. his pass resulted in brazil breaking the deadlock against cameroon. Juve should be willing to spend their money on this player, maybe it will be the boards "gift"?? I would rather spend money on diego this year rather than aquilani.

30m €? It's 8m €. ah goal.com

+ Bremen wanted about 30m for him now they'd be willing to sell him for 16-20m?

+ he's overrated and would fail miserably in Serie A.

no it is around 30 Million Mark. Not just what UEFA pays you for qualifying, but TV rights and all..

OK, let's ignore the fact that he will not be sold by Werder - getting diego would mean changing ALL of our system (except the back 4 maybe). Diego can only play if he's the playmaker, and we all know we don't play like that. So nedved would have to step back and defend more than attack, same for camo. And sissoko would have to move further up, without getting help from a CM

Diego is awesome, don't get me wrong, but IF we get a player now, we should get one who replaces an existing spot, and not turn over all the preparation we have done. We may not have been spectacular under Ranieri, but we won a lot of games, do you really want to risk that just to get diego and play more attractive football.

'Overrated' is a big word here. If he would come to serie-a, he wouldn't surely do the things he's doing in germany, that's sure for me. But i don't see him 'failing' either. Diego is a classy player, and i'd say he could adapt to serie-a if he'd get the chance to do so...

both really. only can only look at the golden age of Pirlo + Kaka and how much fun they were to watch
...claiming that terrific uefa-spot finishing in front of World-Class-Teams like Sampdoria and Udinese

OK, i like these transfer-rumours as much as everyone, and i like participating in discussions also, but the diego-thing is just out of this world... As i said, there are absolutely NO HINTS of him going away, and even lesser hints that he could possibly come to us. NO WAY!

you think goal.com thought of that? I'm sure they think Juve will get a check for 30m right after the away game vs Artmedia not counting the TV rights, stadium revenues...it's goal.com you know.
