Actually the long interview with him clarified that he badly wants to be played as trequartista/in the hole playmaker, saying he would adore whatever brave coach who played him there. Because central AMs is getting more absolete these days and they are getting to be played in the wing or very deep.

Quag would be a gamble ( he is extremely deadly and versatile finisher, explosive, more so then Iaquinta for sure), but still a clear improvement on Palla, and would be a healthy striker to have competing for a spot.

And no one is wanting Palla out, or such. He isnt just top quality, or starting eleven material so far. Age isnt an excuse for him, he is a decent player, and good backup, but until he shows otherwise, he shouldnt be more then that and if its needed, we oughta get upgrade on him (quag would be, like many others).
Either I am blind and don't know how to read(which is possible) or some members posted Palla in their Out-list for example in the "I want this player to Juve thread".

Despite,I don't think a player gets called up for his country(And I think you agree that Italy isn't just any country) when he isn't "top quality". Sure it was just a meaningless game against the Faroer Islands which wasn't crucial but still it is the senior squad of Italy, the world champions. I agree that he isn't world-class and he won't reach for example Del Piero's level but he can be a very useful player.

I really haven't been that impressed by Palladino and don't see him as a striker. I would rather have Giusseppe Rossi(from Villarreal) IMO he is the best young italian striker out there.

Juve Offer Palladino For Quagliarella?

Juventus are set to offer Raffaele Palladino for Udinese sensation Fabio Quagliarella, according to Italian newspaper 'Leggo’.

Quagliarella burst onto the Serie A scene last season with Sampdoria scoring 13 goals, most of them spectacular.

This led to a call-up to the Italian national team, and on his first start for the Azzurri he scored two brilliant goals in the 2-0 Euro 2008 qualifying victory over Lithuania.

In the summer he moved to Udinese, after the club won a blind auction with Samp to obtain full-ownership of the player.

After a slow start with the Zebrette, he has recently found his feet once again, and is in scintillating form having scored five times in his last four matches.

This has alerted Juventus boss Claudio Ranieri, who is keen to add the Naples-born star to his forward line.

The Tinkerman is set to offer cash plus the services of another Neapolitan, Raffaele Palladino.

At just 23, Palladino is rated as one of the most promising young prospects in Italy, and he recently made his national team debut in the Euro 2008 qualifier with the Faroe Islands last month.

However Ranieri is not convinced by his ability to play up-front and has utilised him mainly on the wing this season.

For this reason he is prepared to let him go, providing they can sign Quagliarella in exchange.

Many crap players have been called for Ghli Azzuri for meaningless friendlies. It was easy and meaningless call up to call up Palladino after showing some promise (plus being young, much easier to call young hyped talents), doesnt mean he deserved his call up (you know he didnt, even if he was good for us, neither NT quality or top quality) or that it means anything whatsoever.

Especially Donadoni who has called up some real awful players. To illustrate my point bit better, I shall show Donadonis first squad in his first game, a meaningless friendly (against Croatia, not the horrible Faraoes), feast your eyes on these:

Goalkeepers
Marco Amelia (Livorno), Flavio Roma (Monaco)

Defenders
Daniele Bonera (Milan), Giorgio Chiellini (Juventus), Giulio Falcone (Sampdoria), Manuel Pasqual (Fiorentina), Christian Terlizzi (Sampdoria), Luciano Zauri (Lazio), Cristian Zenoni (Sampdoria)

Midfielders
Massimo Ambrosini (Milan), Gennaro Del Vecchio (Sampdoria), Massimo Gobbi (Fiorentina), Fabio Liverani (Fiorentina), Stefano Morrone (Livorno), Angelo Palombo (Sampdoria), Franco Semioli (Chievo)

Forwards
Andrea Caracciolo (Palermo), David Di Michele (Palermo), Antonio Di Natale (Udinese), Mauro Esposito (Cagliari), Cristiano Lucarelli (Livorno), Tommaso Rocchi (Lazio)

Bolded those who are NT quality (or just in the NT regardless). insane amounts of crap players in this list, and he has made worse call ups after this. So I wouldnt put too much into Donadonis friendly call ups.

Corradi? that is like signing a Zalayeta
He means Corradi has been called up for NT, ALOT of crap players has been called for the NT while being FAR from top quality as the quoted poster was argumenting. My above post illustrates that better in crapness, its the ultimate squad of crapness :juventus:

both are AMF or SS aren't they? just because he has a video in Youtube doesn't mean he is the best thing since sliced bread...and he hasn't lived up to his reputation so far this season...

Quag is great shooter (can finish from everywhere angle) and excellent striker. But doesnt matter if he is the best thing since sliced bread, Stephan was laughing at the fact someone saying it isnt much of a transfer, when he is better then Palla and would be an upgrade over him (as a PLAYER, for whoever wants to yell "but Palla is our own and would die for Juve").

all this based on one season? lets see how he does this season (and possbily then next as well), till then i reserve my judgement on both

I've never been all that impressed with Quagliarella. And to be honest most of the goals in that video are due to ridiculous errors at the back or poor goalkeeping. The bike at the end was the only spectacular goal.

If I had to choose one player from Udinese, it would be Zapata.

He needs to show more to be considered a bonafide star or such. But he has so far shown himself to be an excellent striker, he is in form this season, atleast latest month, and is building on from his last season showing.

Btw, his shot technique is insane, regardless of the range or angle, he can fire a deadly shot. I understand holding reservations on him, or not being super impressed, like Andy said, but maybe not as a sureshot starter yet, but he would be an excellent striker to have on the roster (if not pricey, but for sure swap with palla quality wise). And he IS better then Palladino, he doesnt need to show more for the obvious. Its Palla who needs to show he is in Quags league (hopefully he will).

Juventus Offer Young Starlets For Zapata Juventus are lining up an end of season part-exchange offer for Udinese defender Christian Zapata, according to the Corriere dello Sport.

The Bianconeri are certain to strengthen their backline in the summer and have been linked with a host of names around Europe in the past few months.

Colombian stopper Zapata is 21-years-old and is regarded as one of the most promising youngsters currently playing in Serie A.

He signed for Udinese in 2005 from Deportivo Cali, and has since evolved into a key player for the team.

This season he has made 15 appearances as the Zebrette currently sit in an outstanding fourth position at the winter break.

The ‘Corriere’ claims that Juventus are prepared to offer a significant cash sum plus the services of two of Claudio Marchisio, Antonio Nocerino, Michele Paolucci and Sebastian Giovinco.

All four of these players are regarded as stars of the future, with Giovinco in particular rated by many as one of the best prospects to come out of Italy for a number of years.

Zapata only recently signed a new contract with Udinese until 2012, and it is clear that any deal would not be cheap, however the inclusion of two of these talented youngsters may be enough to persuade them to part with the Colombian for less.
