Juve Offer Palladino For Quagliarella?

Juventus are set to offer Raffaele Palladino for Udinese sensation Fabio Quagliarella, according to Italian newspaper 'Leggo’.

Quagliarella burst onto the Serie A scene last season with Sampdoria scoring 13 goals, most of them spectacular.

This led to a call-up to the Italian national team, and on his first start for the Azzurri he scored two brilliant goals in the 2-0 Euro 2008 qualifying victory over Lithuania.

In the summer he moved to Udinese, after the club won a blind auction with Samp to obtain full-ownership of the player.

After a slow start with the Zebrette, he has recently found his feet once again, and is in scintillating form having scored five times in his last four matches.

This has alerted Juventus boss Claudio Ranieri, who is keen to add the Naples-born star to his forward line.

The Tinkerman is set to offer cash plus the services of another Neapolitan, Raffaele Palladino.

At just 23, Palladino is rated as one of the most promising young prospects in Italy, and he recently made his national team debut in the Euro 2008 qualifier with the Faroe Islands last month.

However Ranieri is not convinced by his ability to play up-front and has utilised him mainly on the wing this season.

For this reason he is prepared to let him go, providing they can sign Quagliarella in exchange.

Just like said, Quagliarella started to impress after a slow start and has been on fire recently. This might be a good transfer exchange if Palladino doesn´t prove he can cut it for Juve. I have faith in him but we will see how things will develop. The season is long.

think the prob with palla is that he plays out of his position. but i really don't know who is better or will be in the future

I suspected so, but then disregarded it because it didnt make sense to say the transfer isnt much of a transfer because they are the same kind of players. Its not a downside players are the same kind of type (they are MANY who are similar to palla's role and many who are much better), whats important is Quag is better then Palladino, pure and simple.

But Quag would prolly be expensive so for now not too needed (hopefully cost around what Iaquinta did).

I prefer to keep Palladino, lots of people are writing him off lately and set him on the "Out -list" but I won't. I have faith in him and I like his black&white mentality...there are lots of mercenaries out there nowadays who just are looking for the big cash and I think players like Palladino who would "die" for the club are rare and needed. Despite he was great at the beginning of the season, till about 2-3 games ago and it's normal to have some off days,he's human after all.Oh and he is not the DP successor like some of you are labeling him,so better don't compare them and reduce your expectations regarding Palladino's career.

Forza Raffaele!

Quag would be a gamble ( he is extremely deadly and versatile finisher, explosive, more so then Iaquinta for sure), but still a clear improvement on Palla, and would be a healthy striker to have competing for a spot.

And no one is wanting Palla out, or such. He isnt just top quality, or starting eleven material so far. Age isnt an excuse for him, he is a decent player, and good backup, but until he shows otherwise, he shouldnt be more then that and if its needed, we oughta get upgrade on him (quag would be, like many others).

Giovinco is a trequartista/attacking midfielder and even winger. He doesnt compete with these players unless we play a 4-3-3 formation.
