Impressed? Zakaria is still a big question mark after half a season here….
True but let’s see him when is not playing as a right midfielder. I think he’s a better pivot DM we give him credit for. In a 433 he could be the holder to free the LCM and RCM to support Susan, something he would benefit greatly from.

pure statistics show we have lost only two games with him in the squad when he has played more than 45 minutes - 1:0 to Inter in the league, where we were much better team and CI final, where we lost control of the game after he got subbed. Mayb its possible to put him as DM if we play 4231 with Pogba as trequarista, other than that imo he will still play RCM.

Playing Zakaria as a DM is very logical and probably would work fine, but we both know we just have to play with a regista because, well, we just have to…

But but Pogba as traq? Be careful with thinking slightly out of the box around here, some people think whatever position you see next to a players name in a fifa videogame is all that player is suited for :D
At CM or LCM he can never get truely free to cause problems for opposition plus he can be inconsistent defensively against able teams.
We already got players like Zak to clean up the midfield, need to push Pogbas talent more toward attacking output. He'd fit in perfect with ability with both feet and that quick hard release and strength and decent passing to find wingers to cause some real trouble.

Registas don't work anymore. A year into Pjanic playing there, they learned to shut him down and he went down hill. Only Pirlo was unmarkable in that position. I don't remember if Xabi Alonso played in midfield 3s in their heydays.

Defensive mids work as long as they're not like Momo Sissoko passing ability. Talking about Mascherano and Casemiro. There are lots of others but they're prime examples.

With Loca and Pogba in midfield and di Maria on the right wing, we're gonna need a high energy runner at RCM that can both attack open spaces and cover defensively, hopefully this guy is up to the task. McKennie is great at making runs, but he leaves a lot to be desired defensively.

Him, Pogba and Locatelli looks like a great combo in midfield, there is running, great passing, technique and tackling. We just need them to gel together. Having Rovella, Miretti and Fagioli on the bench means we can also bring more creativity when needed.

Not only them but zaniolo too. We can't expect those broken knees to make a lot of tackle
Prime vidal is perfect
But i think 100% fit Zakaria is enough
