Juve's Delle Alpi conundrum
Juventus have a big choice to make for the redevelopment of the Stadio Delle Alpi – they must decide between a restructuring and a complete rebuild.
The Bianconeri have purchased the stadium from Turin council for around £16m and will submit plans for their new home by the start of April.
Old Lady director Jean-Claude Blanc met with local authorities this morning to discuss the club’s options.
“I can’t discuss figures publicly because of the club’s position on the stock market,” he told journalists.
“But the cost of a total rebuild would be around five times greater than a restyling.
“We are weighing things up as well because with Italy having missed out on Euro 2012 there won’t be the offer of an interest-free loan.
“In any case we will make an important investment without endangering the fund for strengthening the squad.”
A restructuring would see the distance between the stands and the pitch reduced with a 50,000-capacity stadium ready for the 2009-2010 campaign.
A total rebuild would require a much longer waiting period and would lead to a 40,000-seater arena opening at the beginning of the 2011-2012 season.

I hope we get a football stadium without running track soon. Juventus needs a nice football stadium. Just renovating the delle alpi for 20 millions won`t make it a better place to watch football.
We should stay in the Olimpico until we have the money to build a stadium we are happy with for the next 20 or 30 years.

They said that they are already rebuilding it, how comes that we are still pazzled and dont know what to do??

Minor restyling lasts for years?? The a new stadium would make some decades to be built, at this rate...

why do you hate the Delle Alpi so much?
i think it is a great looking stadium, and keeping the external looks of the ground whilst taking away the running track and bringing the stands closer to the pitch would be a great idea.
if the restyling project is the same as the pictures we have all seen and it is 5times cheaper than building a new one, plus with 10,000 extra seats i think this is a great idea.
We need to move from the olimpico soon, it is too small for playing in the champs league.
When you consider that in the "money league" which Deloitte published last week Man Utd. and Arsenal earned around £95m from ticket sales alone, it shows how important it is to get fans in the stadium.
IMO Blanc needs to concentrate on increasing ticket sales and providing a stadium with a capacity higher than 20 odd thousand!

my magic No. is 35-40 thousand max. The attendence in juve's games r low. average season ticket sales for the past 10 years were 35.000. In the past 3-4 years the numbers decreased to 25-20.000 season tickets, so its bitter to have a capacity of 35-40.000 so that even in the games against small teams the stadium will look good. Even in the champions league games we had a very low attendance, once we had about 2.000 supporters only in a champions league game thats not good at all.......
