Juventus striker David Trezeguet has been summoned to court after giving police false information during a routine traffic stop, according to
Il Corriere della Sera.
On Thursday, the court in Turin heard how Trezeguet, who was absent from the hearing, supplied the police with false information when he and a friend were pulled over last year.
The prosecution allege the Juventus striker lied about his name, date of birth and place of birth before finally telling them who he was after the BMW he was travelling in failed to stop under orders from a stationary police patrol car.
The court heard that when the car finally pulled over, Trezeguet told the police he was "Vincenzo Iaquinta" and then "Alessandro Del Piero".
Trezeguet finally told police his name, but said he was "born in Buenos Aires, Argentina on November 15, 1976", when in fact he was born in Rouen, France, on October 15, 1977.
The driver of the vehicle, named as Christian Luis Amodeo, was 'drunk and disorderly', according to the police report read out at the hearing.
Amodeo then refused to give a breath test to police, and he told them to 'close an eye' to the incident.
The case continues.
