Trez sees return of 'real’ Juve
Juventus are back on track after reaching the last 16 of the Europa League, says striker David Trezeguet.
The Old Lady have endured a difficult campaign after starting the season with hopes of winning the Scudetto and the Champions League.
However, the outfit were out of both competitions by Christmas and boss Ciro Ferrara was axed in February.
New Coach Alberto Zaccheroni has steadied the ship though and the Bianconeri are starting to grind out results again.
“The game against Ajax was a delicate and difficult one,” Trezeguet said after the 0-0 draw in Turin ensured a 2-1 aggregate victory.
“However, Juventus are finding themselves again. We are happy with qualification to the next round after an excellent game.”
Juventus have also suffered numerous injury problems this season, with Trezeguet himself only just back from the treatment table.
“A lot of the players who were injured are now fit again,” he added. “We are determined to do well although we now that we will have to suffer because there is much work to do.”
Although the Old Lady do have a host of players back after knocks, Gigi Buffon was ruled out for a month this week and there are fears that Amauri will now spend time out too.
Trezeguet came on for the big Brazilian at the Olimpico last night after Amauri picked up a muscle strain.
