Ronaldo is a bit too old for a Wolsfurg repeat imo.

It would take something of truly superhuman proportions for the whole team to come back. Atletico have never lost a tie when they've won the 1st leg and we have never won a tie when we've lost the first game 2-0. But still we hope somehow. I'd have more faith if I didn't have to see guys like Emre Can, Bonucci, Bentancur etc out there.

We have never ever qualified after losing first away leg. 5 unsuccessful attempts. :fab:
That's not true, I believe. Two times we eliminated Real Madrid after losing the first away leg. In 1996 and 2003. There are probably other cases.... There are, I just remembered Werder in 2005/06 and that goal by Emerson in the last minute  We lost the first leg 3:2 in Bremen and won 2:1 in Turin.
Or maybe you mean a 2 goal defeat?

Never say never.

Yes. I missed the most important part by mistake. I can't think of any away matches where we qualified after losing by a 2 goal margin. That must be right. :boh:

Just checked. We never came back from a 2 goal first leg defeat in the Champions League/Cup. We came close to a comeback twice in the 1970s, but we screwed up in the last minutes, just like against Bayern in 2016 and Real Madrid last year.
We can proudly say that we lost 2 goal advantages from the first leg, though. In one occasion, we won the first leg 3:1 and then we lost the return leg 7:0.

Juve in this competition

Chokers. We could not score a single goal against Atletico in all of our 3 matches in modern era. It is extremely hard to see us overcoming this 0-2 deficit against opponent like this but I believe... like they say hope is the mother of fools.

Please stop taking free-kicks FFS! In the return game, I don't want to see him attempt a single FK. Our season is on the line, so the time for pettiness and hubris is most definitely not now. Allow Dybala and Pjanic, who are infinitely better FK takers, to take those FKs close to ATM's goal (that's assuming we get into any goal-scoring positions or get any dangerous fks).

Also, Wolfsburg are not ATM. That Real Madrid team were poor, but VW were quite a garbage team as well. ATM is a whole different animal.

Unfortunately when we literally give him 1 half chance in 90 minutes he's going to need to perform actual miracles to get 5 goals from 1 opportunity.

He must be fucking fuming. Only Juve could take the best CL scorer of all time and have him reduced to 1 goal half way through the R16. We have the worst attacking plays I've ever seen compared to the talent we have. We're like club footballs Argentina.

besides szczesny, our best player yesterday. still, this is alarming:

Ronaldo has never scored against the duo Godin and Giménez in 8 matches (6 for Real, 1 for Portugal and 1 for Juventus).
this is coming from an unknown guy on whoscored. didn't verify it completely, but based on the 4 random real-atleti matches i checked, it can be legit.
