Just seeing R9 Ronaldo in his prime still sends shivers.

Even had a pair of those boots he has on. Nike Tiempo if I’m correct?
Mercurials.

edit: if you're looking at the boots he has on there they are the Tiempos.

To be fair imho that is also part of the reason why Ronaldo faded this early. I mean with 30 the guy was a shadow of his 20/21 year old self. I know injuries are also a major reason for his early decline but seeing messi and CR7 bossing at 30+ while a more talented guy like ronaldo declined earlier makes me think that his lack of professionalism also played a big role in his early decline.

Same can be said about Ronaldinho, him and R9 are the most talented players i ve ever seen kick a ball around, yet both of them declined in their late 20 s early 30s while less talented players keep on impressing till they are well into their 30s.

Side note: What a fucking disgrace that when you google Ronaldo fucking CR7 is the first result and not R9.

Wait... you like R9? You must be an Inter troll

I've been watching football since the mid 90s and for me CR7 and Messi are definitely better footballers than Brazilian Ronaldo in almost everything, they both well above everybody in the goat debate. It's all just a nostalgic feeling.

O Fenomeno is the better player, but CR7 had a better career by far, there is no comparison.

Based on what exactly?

IMO the best player is the one who is the most effective. R9 was fantastic but CR7 was far more effective on the field. The only thing R9 has over CR7 is a world cup, but the Brazil team he was part of was more greater than CR7's Portugal.

Don't get me wrong, R9 and Ronaldinho were two of the best players I have ever seen, but no football player has been as effective as CR7 IMO.

Likewise. Though I was a massive fan of Barcelona's Ronaldinho, still think he was most 'talented football player' but not the best. The best is the player who can win you the most games.

Who doesn't love the real Ronaldo?

I'd say most football fans prefer R9 to CR7, except the younger generation who haven't seen the former.

Hi Mourinho

Why not love both? I believe R9 was a fantastic player for the time. The way he dribbled, stopped, continued and scored was something else. Didn't have the same commitment and health as CR7 though.

CR did surpass Ronaldo and all, but IMO he should've went with just Cristiano back then.

I mean there are many Raúls (Bravo, Albiol, Gimenez etc.) in football, but you don't see anyone else going by just Raúl, why? Cause someone else coined it already.

But I guess this was just another challange for our Ronaldo to overcome -- overshadow the other ))

Let’s no forget that back in those days defenders were defenders. Montero and Ferrara. The Messi’s and Ronaldo’s of today wouldn’t have lasted as long as they have.

I don't say one is better than the other, but you are 100% right about nostalgic feeling thing.
