Raw stats like that are very arbitrary though. Messi probably has a higher % of his shots taken within ranges he’s more likely to hit the target whereas Ronaldo is known to take on shots from obscene angles and ranges no other player would even think of which will skew the data. Therefore those numbers don’t necessarily prove Messi is a more deadly finisher.

Messi will be the stat king this year because French league is no contest for PSG but remember his best performances and most successful period were with Xavi and Iniesta then alongside Suarez and Neymar.
