At Mark, Andy and others:

I'd rather play Nedved in the middle with Marchionni and Camoranesi on the wings. Camoranesi is best when allowed freedom to attack and hegreat at one and one, which is more useful on the wings. Nedved has proven in the past that he is as good in the middle as he is on the wings.

On a serious note, he has done pretty well so far in terms of Calcio Mercato is concerned. He pulled a Moggi with Hasan Salihamidzic, and signed Grygera on a free transfer. Not to mentioned, he retained a service of promising star in Cristico. Those three will add real punch to the depth of our defence, which is non-existent at best ATM. I still feel the jury is out there, but if he can snap up Saviola or Metzelder on a free, we have to give him A+ for his endeavour. That will free up massive amount to sign a superstar without sacrificing one of ours.
I´m afraid Salihamidzic is a midfielder, Jun. :p

Secco is the best :D.
:agree:

Ahhhh, Moggi fans. :p

Says who? Hasan is a midfielder but can easily play full-back on either flanks, he's more versatile than Zambrotta.
His natural position is in midfield on the right side, he can be used as fullback, but he definitely doesn´t add depth to the defense as Jun said, IMO.

he sounds a bit too expensive to me too, but i'd pay 5m any given day to keep boumsong out of our defence. the question is if we should have spent those money on a more experienced defender that could make an immidiate impact, such as andrade or heinze but then again it is nice though to see us buying italian, and maybe this time, at least it looks like, we are actually planning to make use of young prospects instead of sending them away on loan like maresca, miccoli..ect
bottomline i think the deal is ok, heck ferrara will turn him into a worldclass df by giving him pointers now a then

I disagree, even more so when you look at our defense at present. Whatever the case may be a player like Hasan most definetly adds to the defensive department, no matter where you choose to play him, because his work rate is simply amazing, the guy never gives up.

Is it just me, but if we do sign Metzelder for free, we might actually have pretty decent defensive rotation with: Metzelder, Kovac, Cristico, Boumsong, Legro.

I haven't seen Kovac play this season, but if he is able to keep physically fit, he has a lot to give. And I feel his experience will have positive effect of Cristico's development so he is a must keep IMHO. Now Boumsong and Legro are hardly most reliable back-ups with more mind lapses in a month than John Terry will commit in his career. But they have played at the highest level before, and as a back up I wouldn't be so down on them.

Personally, I think we should keep our eyes on Heinze. It seems Gareth Bales is certain to move to Manchester United somepoint. Evra has been their first choice left-back, which means Heinze' might be pushed further in a pecking order. He hasn't been the same Heinze we know since his injury, but I suspect he could be available for loan with an option to buy at the end of season.

Tudor seems to be injured all the time. I like the player, as much as anyone here, but the team has a payroll to watch. If we bring in a player of Metzelder's calibre, they are going to fetch a lot of salaries. I think we can off-set that by shedding off Tudor's and make up rest with the potential transfer fee they might bring in later years.

I would not mind a defense made up of the following:

Grygera- Metzelder- new CB- Chiellini

with Criscito and Boumsong as 3rd and 4th choice CBs.

New CB could be Barzagli/Ayala/Heinze/Samuel. This would make up a very solid defense. Plus with Buffon behind them it will be a nightmare for the opposition forwards.

It looks impregnable, I like it. However, any defensive partnership needs time to nourish, so I think it would take a while for the backline to have that sense of "togetherness" that we are so used to seeing at Juventus (not this season).

And of course, welcome to the forums.

IMO he is terrible since he came to Juve.
Well, last season he practically warmed the bench.

This season when he performs on a regular basis, now I know why he was bought as a backup, though I´m not sure if he is good choice even for the bench.

Let´s face it, he wasn´t a class defender even when he was at Bayern and Bayer Leverkusen.

Thank you. I like this place

I agree with you that it will take time for the defense and the other new signings to gel together. I'm hoping for a busy friendly schedule in the summer so it will help speed up the process a bit.

Io Criscito, valgo Ronaldo

Mi ispiro a Terry, Nesta e Materazzi. Farò vedere quanto valgo»

LUCA BORIONI

«Lo so, lo so.

«L’ho detto ad Alessio Secco, so*no contento.

Quest’anno ha già affronta*to i bianconeri.

A me però piace soprattutto giocare la palla... ».

Genova è la sua città adot*tiva.
E Torino?
E so che ritroverò qualche amico napoletano. Come Palladino e Mirante, oltre a Ferrara».

«No, mai.

Poche volte la Juve ha saputo lancia*re tanti giovani come quest’an*no ». E ora tocca a Criscito. An*zi, no: lui è già lanciato.
