I don't think that is going to happen at all.
It has been a year and a half and people are bored. In most European countries the vast majority will be vaccinated by the end of the summer. There may be new variants, but the vaccines should offer some protection against those as well.
And then there's the fact that there are a million other diseases out there as well, you can't shut down your entire society because of a virus that is no longer deadly for 99% of the population.

And rightfully so. I think it's very safe to say that, in Belgium at least, there was a lot of fearmongering. There were very restricting measures, lockdowns, facemasks, an entire stop to any sort of social life whatsoever.. and the fact is they achieved nothing. Numbers still went up at pretty random times and ironically they went down the minute temperatures went up (seriously, congrats to our awesome virologists mocking people who claimed they would, because they did just that).
Maybe, and I say maybe, there was a risk of our intensive care units being overburdened. But we are long past that point and I am honestly fed up with virologists who have now become famous and are clinging on to their last few minutes of fame. Enough is enough.
We have much more important issues to deal with and with half the world ablaze and the other half aflood, I would think people would realise this.
