My father got an angry call from a doctor's practice asking why he missed his vaccination appointment today

-he never got any notice about having an appointment
-it was a doctor from a far away district he had literally never in his life even talked to
-it's J&J so he told them to fuck off

Glory days of German organization are long gone :baus:

We have election coming up by the end of September. Gonna be interesting what'll happen leading up to it.
Oh! Sounds familiar. Here's my prediction:
- numbers will go lower and lower
- media will speak about it less and less
- they will make the elections perfectly normal event
- 3-4 weeks after it finishes they will start mentioning higher numbers
- in November you will have corona spreading all over the place while everyone wonders what happened

On Friday, the UK also recorded its highest number of new confirmed coronavirus cases in a single day since late March, at 6,238. The estimated R number for England is now 1.0 to 1.2, up from 1.0 to 1.1 last week.

You can't make this shit up ffs. This will never end
As long as people don't end up in hospital/ICU, the number of (new) cases doesn't matter though, does it?
If the vaccines prevent serious illness, we're good, right?

Or am I missing something? (Yeah, I know, possible mutations because of too many anti-vaxxers and so on, but still.)

Here I received an appointment for vaccination, went and got the shot (AZ), then an hour later I received an invitation for next day (for JJ).

Well, it does and it doesn't From an immediate public health perspective, no.

From the perspective of a population-sized Petri dish where a virus is evolving new variants to breach existing defenses, it's to what you parenthetically said.
