The first time I ate urchins I was like wtf is this shit. Horse sashimi and ostrich meat are also great. Tbh, if I had to rate my favorite types of meat/protein, I'm still quite a traditionalist:

1.) Beef
2.) Fish
3.) Lamb
4.) Pork
5.) Turkey
6.) Chicken and Duck
turkey over chicken/duck??? You madman

also, I wouldn’t call eel and sea urchin exotic, a lotta places in philly serve them

almost the same for me, although i prefer duck and chicken over turkey. i'd also include deer which is terrific food, even though it's rare to come by if you don't know some hunters. and wild boar over pork anytime. a good wild boar stew, damn... traditional horse sausage is delicious too. a former french teacher of mine cooked us some snails with garlic butter using their traditional recipe, one of the best food-related surprises ever.

anyway, bottom line is completely agreed on beef and fish over anything else. i probably never had a week without eating either of these.

I don't know which circles you frequent, but from school on everywhere I've been i was challenged to demonstrate the usefulness and efficacity of anything i put forth. We always had controls in place, protocols, postmortems, and bottom lines, shit i didn't see in europe, apart maybe from germany.
As for the short term long term thing, I'm sure you are referring the politics, and that's the case everywhere that is why it's essential to limit the damage of government and policy to a minimum.
Do you mind if I ask what industry you work in?

you want more of chinese food ??
This reminds me of the inlanders and seasiders in a part of Mexico: the former thinks the latter is sick for eating shrimp - insects of the sea - while vice versa is grossed out about them eating insects. A lot of this is cultural conditioning.

Lol. I'm not sure what you're going on about. The newsletter from a scientist citing scientific papers talks about what's being worked on, at what stage, clearly states randomized controlled trials are needed, and says nothing about proof of a fix.

No further comment on encroaching vs wet markets.

Hope you're having a better day today.
The problem with scientific talks about what’s being worked on is that it is irrelevant for 99% of laymen. In fact, even when studies are formalized and published in journals they are usually pretty dubious until someone can reproduce their work.

The point in comparing it to Tribal Football during the transfer window is that people will waste their energy getting worked up over stuff a) they can’t do anything about and b) are 90%+ likely to be bull crap.

Europe had horse meat. I'd eat that. Healthier than cow.
I’ve had cavalo near Lake Como in a dark sauce. A bit gamey, but not the end of the world. Definitely prefer kangaroo or springbok.

Chicken in Asia is pretty weak, i don't even like nandos there
