Out of curiosity, what is the perspective you guys have in Germany to ease restrictions?

The cases won't be dropping anyhwere soon most likely, vaccines won't roll out either anywhere soon either considering the EU deals and AZ is fucked. Holiday season will start and knowing people they'll be on the first plane to Mallorca or Greece and import new cases and strains

I still fail to believe that countries are amateurish when it comes to vaccines. I think countries simply postpone vaccinating people, they either wait for some better vaccines popping up or they don't think current ones are good. There's no way shit countries like mine do better. It's simply impossible.

:D

It doesn't think much to out-perform the Western/EU countries. Even countries like Slovenia and Malta are doing better than the NL, France, Belgium or Germany.

The problem is simple: they banked it all on the AZ vaccine. AZ had major supply issues which caused a major delay back in January. Now 3/4 months further AZ is off the market for most groups because of the blood cloths, vaccination willingness is hitting an all time low and people are closed to being depressed and can't comply with measures anymore.

But in fairness I don't see the situation getting better at all in the coming years over here. We might get a good dose of Biontechs and Moderna vaccines but considering how the virus is developing internationally it'll be only a matter of time 'till we see outbreaks of SA and Brazilian-variants which the vaccines don't seem to work against.

It's pretty much what @swag claimed a few months ago. Vaccines or no vaccines, this virus is here to stay with all its future variants.

And new vaccines to be taken for those variants every six months :agree:

just had my first shot of pfizer! next the first of May
best vaccine probably. i'd have taken that if i had the opportunity to cherry pick between vaccines.

got my 2nd dose of sputnik today. the last time i had zero issues in the first couple of hours, then some mild fever and general weakness the same night. next morning it was completely gone. now i already feel completely powerless, it's gonna be a fun evening :weee: still better than your usual astrazeneca side effects i guess. gonna binge watch some shit on netflix or hbo and not move at all

It's very confusing reading about astrazeneca.
Here in Italy first they told us it was for those younger than 60 then they changed it for those only 60+
At one point they suspended it at least in my region.
Bah let's see how it goes for now all normal

The negativity surrounding this vaccine is mindblowing to me. If the AZ vaccine would have such terrible side effects we would be seeing a humanitarian disaster in England by now. I'm pretty sure it's one of the most used vaccines over there and the recent statistic show us the risks are limited. It's one death per million jabs, the benefits easily outweighs the risks imo.

It's far from perfect but I can't think we can be too picky about it right now. Especially for those with health issues, they'd most likely be hospitalized or die from the virus instead of the jab.

I'd rather have my freedom back and have 0.0004% chance to die from the jab instead of suffering in a crowded park with 1 in 170 people being contagious

Can't wait to see anti maskers' reaction when covid passport slyly gets shoved at them (already in process with flights protocol).

Never knew Europe is this dumb. Germany surprised most. No wonder low IQs are overeacting and turning into far rights in that continent. Yuros have no right to make fun of Murica now.

It's like only NZ and Vietnam make any sense.

What fake news and alternative facts in particular are you talking about now? AstraZeneca causing issues isn't fake news and countries aren't adjusting to only giving it to the eldery for no reason.

not speaking about astra Zeneca in particular but the theory that vaccines cause side effects worse than covid. Fact is, you’re still much more likely to be adversely affected by covid than any vaccine out there so far. Even the flu vaccine can have adverse effects on people

there’ll always be question marks and rare cases. There’s people also having side effect and allergic reactions from penicilline. Does that make it a wise idea to stop it? No! The side effect are friggin rare.

so were having a full lockdown because of an IF-rate of 0,3% and stop using vaccins because of a 0,00004% of fatality? Does make no sense to me at al

I also don’t smoke Shisha you balbausar, just want to be able to dine outdoors and meet people again
