Some nice saves from Carini he really saved Uruguay at the end of the game.
Yes, he did! Overall, Uruguay did enough to merit the win, but they're gonna have to show stronger in the next game or it's "Adios!" For Bolivia, it already is...Next game should be better, Peru, perhaps to win? Then again Venezuela are obliged as hosts to go for it!

i still rate him quite highly, never seems to put a foot wrong, he was exceptional against england last yr in the friendly, i still truely miss him at juve, eventho we got canna in exchange, but i recon he cud walk into any team, im glad he rejected arsenal about 4 yrs back, but its a true shame to see him as inter's num 4 gk

Well, we weren't starved of drama in this game...I thought Peru were mugged by the referee out of a penalty, but with Venezuela's nicely taken second goal, it wouldn't have mattered. Stupid sendings off, both players had themselves only to blame!

they sent the strongest squad as well...but if Brazil get their act together it should be an even better tournament than it already is...plus Ecuador is really dangerous as well

Chile deserved to at least tie the game. They played a lot better and for a second it looked like they were Brazil. Wonderful display by Suazo, too bad he couldn't put it in the back of the net.

For me, Nery Castillo is the tournament talent so far...I've read one or two posts from members who are not that impressed, but let's see what he does as Mexico continue. Having 6 pts. means a draw required to win the group, & it's "Adios" also now to Ecuador...& Chile aren't out of it yet, "J."

The commenator for Dubai sport today, seemed to be convinced that Castillo is going to sign for the Saudi club Al-Hilal. He seems to have some "insider" information. Castillo would be getting 2 million. Don't know how true that is, but I doubt it.
