OR the whole world is retarted, including Ranieri and the Juventus board, except for the few people in here who are gifted with the brilliant ability to know what changes need to be made in order for the squad to be successful.
I admit you made me curious.

What is that idiot doing there in your signature?

those kind of statements should come from fans and in forums but a manager should never make such statements. If inter's heads are not swollen already, this will put them into orbit.

Anyways I have read too much rubbish on here to know such trash from our manager would be applauded.

You ask a sensible person like Dp and he will tell you its another game even though inwardly he probbaly wants to beat Inter more than anyother team, nut he would never really it in public.

Do you hear Mourinho saying he wants to beat Manchester United? Big clubs are not interested in whats going on to their counterparts inly when they feel pressure they start talking about them constantly.

But i have been bored to tears about Inter on here, and to read the board and now the manager talk about Inter like its the reason we are in SerieA is grating.

Ranieri proves everytime that he is small fry and until he starts to act like he is in the big time, he would take us down with him.

Why do you thinmk he was replaced by Mourinho? Because he is small time, he not and probably never be ready to dance witht the big boys and coming out with such stupid statements just enhances his idiocy.

You expect Torino's manager to mark out Juventus as the game to win cos that is what they aim for as they are never gonna win scudetto

Lazio are looking at Roma's fixture becos they are the underdogs

Ancellotti has not won scudetto in 4 years now but you would never hear him say they are looking forward especially to Inter or Juvenus match

Lippi and Capello with Trapatoni before them would never come out with such nonsense.

Capello went to Real Madrid and at the time, even he thought it was an empty boast, but he said give me 60 days and i will make them into champs, he was helped along the way by Barcelona and the rest but he won the league.

At no time was he talking about Barcelona being the game to win cos he is a winner.

Someone ought to shut him up but the whole board seems to be full of circus clowns.

I don't care if he says this is the season to consolidate but never single out a team as it shows weakness in your character and it says you have an inferiority complex
Ranieri always sounds like he doesn't believe in the scudetto. The enthusiasm never comes through when you talk about being ready for August 26th. Why cant any match with anyone be treated like an opportunity? Instead he just sounds like hes resigned to aiming for nothing more than 4th place. And the only match we really want to win is against Inter. Sure, the results dont matter in pre season friendlies, but if you're trying to tell me the losses taught you nothing when you say we dont need any more signings. It actually leaves me wondering how much we do need one: that of a new coach.
exactly my thoughts for both of your posts.

wow contest for the longest post! ha ha..

Denco your point on proffessionalism is well made I accept (recalling incidents like Keegan's "I would love it" statement if anyone remembers that) but having seen C.R's year at Chelsea, he know's what he's doing with the press, he's a gent and what's more he is honest. So while Fergie/Mourhino et al would be more crafty our Claudio wears his heart on his sleeve and after Crapello I for one am for that.

The other thing is that our circumstances are unique in world football, given our return to Serie A, the stolen scudetti not to mention the telecomms links, I am proud to have a manager that will state his intention upfront in our 'derby' which is more than city/national rivalry after all, it is right vs. wrong..

I have no envy of Inter. I welcome the underdog tag and the 'clean' frame of mind we play with this year after years of finger-pointing and insinuation.
I hope you are right and its just mind games( am putting my blind faith hat on here a bit ).
Cause if its not then like denco and baggio said we have been reduced to a 2nd rate team with absolutely no class, by going for revenge and forgetting the ultimate goal. Something that Inter were doing for years and thats why they were unsuccessful on all fronts, they saw defeating Milan or juve as "good enough".

Errr what!?

C.R. says beating Inter and the Championship priorities - what is wrong with that!?

What do you think he should say!? Let's win the Coppa and make sure to beat Siena? I want Juve to beat Inter and take Serie A, good luck to you though whatever your objectives are..

Stupid. Some ppl just want to gripe at Ranieri with no foundation at all. Buffon is happy with him - enough for me..
I don´t know who is the stupid one here if you are expecting Scudetto.....

I wouldn't be surprised if this all a tactic to lower the prices of players he wants.
 How will that statement reduce the price of any player?

In today's tuttosport:

Claudio Ranieri says;
Rome wasn't constructed in one day. Del Piero will play for us until he is 37 years old, like Zola. The midfield is ok. If there's any money left, he would prefer to get a defender. Chiellini is staying. Goodbye to the trident, the 4-4-2 it is.

That's quite a lot of information. Thanx, Dom, +rep.

well it isn't like he doesn't leave himself wide open for criticism with his mindless utterings, and the way the team has looked in the past 3 friendlies
look, i am not saying i am the biggest fan of ranieri, personally i didnt want him, but now that hes here, i cant do anything about, so its only right that i give him the chance that anyone deserves.

Ranieri: “We're growing”

After their excellent performance in Cesena's match against Roma, Juventus are seeking to confirm their worth on the way towards the opening match of the League. Tuesday there's another engagement which has become something of a classic by now: the TIM Trophy against Inter Milan and AC Milan. Another chance to face the two teams from Milan.

Another step towards the League, from which Ranieri is expecting further answers, but not the same ones he would get from 90-minute matches: “I prefer traditional 90-minute matches. For example in Naples, we won the first match but then we had to wait one hour before playing the other one. In the second match I wasn't even able to talk to the team and we let a goal in at the very beginning. I'll play two different line-ups, but I don’t want to hear about 'Juventus A' or 'Juventus B', as far as I'm concerned it'll always be just Juventus playing, I'm simply trying to complete the pre-season preparation in the best possible way. We won't play for the result, but to improve every player's condition. However, we do want to make a good impression against the teams that won the Italian championship and the Champions League last year”.

A further improvement: that's what the Manager is expecting. The game against Roma was encouraging, a sign that the path chosen is the right one: “We're growing, and that's important. Saturday we were able to keep up physically for the whole match, we're improving our form. We still have to improve our concentration, though, because the goals Roma scored were our fault, but when I watched the match again I noticed that even during those first 20 minutes, not considering the goals, we were the ones who had the best chances. They went close with Giuly, we went close both with Nedved and Iaquinta”.

The only thing to do is to keep going. The Manager added: “It's hard to say at what stage we are. Some players are in good condition, they've 'digested' all the training, while others still have to digest it. Everybody will be at their best only after 3 or 4 League matches. But in these friendlies, those in England too, the team has always fought 'til the end and this is what I want to see. But this squad has had that spirit and that heart right from the start, and they're the same attributes the old Juve had. I'd say we're on the right track”.

Most interesting from this article;

- Our first team's defence will probably be:
Zebina/Grygera - Andrade- Criscito - Chiellini

- Camo and Nedved will be on the flanks.

- Ranieri hasn't given up on the Almiron- Tiago partnership

- Ranieri likens Nocerino to Nedved
I think this is good news. I think it is right to start Mimmo, and if this is true, we keep Giorgio, which is also good. Besides, our midfiled can have different looks over the season, which isn't bad either. One week we line up Tiago-Almirón, the next it will be Noce-Almirón. Very versatile.
