Along with Buffon he was our worst player.
Pirlo was way worse. Matri came close. But hey, when the team lost, Claudio's the man nowadays.

Well Marchisio didn't win a lot of duels in the midfield, did he? I recall exactly one, after which Matri was fouled. Successfuly tracking Lahm is hardly an achievement to be proud of, if you can't cause him any trouble whatsoever offensively.
We're facing Bayern after all, where even Vidal got lucky he didn't get a 2nd yellow.
Claudio did deliver a good cross from Lahm's side in the first half, but as I've said we didn't control the game. Did you see Vidal hammering Bayern's left side? I don't think so.

And I merely responding to the notion of "Lahm got the best of him" bit, it's unfair to say that since both barely had any time to own each other.

Vidal had a much better game both offensively and defensively. Pirlo was involved and awful, Marchisio didn't even try to take incentive until the last 5 minutes, I honestly don't know what's worse. We gave all control to Bayern because our midfield lost their battles, Peluso-Marchisio-Pirlo part of the midfield was particularly sad.
