Zidane: 'People jealous of Madrid'
Football Italia

Zinedine Zidane is furious at the “shameful” way Juventus talked about Real Madrid after the Champions League quarter-final. “People are jealous.”

The Coach commented in his Press conference after the controversial last-gasp penalty, awarded for a Medhi Benatia nudge on Lucas Vazquez, and Gigi Buffon’s subsequent red card for dissent.

“It’s shameful what has been said about us and the way we have been treated, the suggestion it was robbery. I can’t believe people say such things.

“The 3-0 lead for Juventus surprised me, but that’s the beauty of football. I didn’t think it could happen, and yet it did. At times it goes your way, at times it goes against you.

“What I read from Buffon was something he said in the heat of the moment and we accept his feelings at that time, but we deserved to qualify, that’s what interests me.

“Our success is disturbing some people and makes them jealous, but nothing will change the history of this club, which is the best in the world. All the controversy created by that penalty doesn’t seem normal to me.

“Even if Juve played very well, we are in the Champions League semi-final.”

Inter, Real, Barca, Napoli, ManU, Milan.
It 's not a proper hate list if Bayern isn't on it.

I think Ramos’ absence was the main factor.
That, too. So if our players think we won at Bernabeu because they're no longer over respect opponents, the team will be much more confident to start a great chapter since next season. The attitude is changed. Just like Bayern, they don't have Ronaldo or Messi but they don't give a shit who they play against, just blitz all over the opponents.
But if our players think Juve won because Ramos was missing, then they thought they were lucky to have a rare win at Bernabeu. That's bad.
Just like whether you think you can do it or not, you're both right.

Pretty strange to think that way..
We missed 2 players the 1st leg whom really affected us.
I dont think our players have anything in mind related to Ramos

Don't see what's wrong with what he said.

And he didn't specify Juve. Besides Real fans, the whole world dislikes Real now, partly because of the favorable calls they've been receiving (which isn't their fault) and partly because they've won 3 out of last 4 CLs and can make it 4 out of 5. Some neutrals hop on the bandwagon while rest get tired of the winners.

Vallejo instead of SR made a diff, but us targeting their FBs made an even bigger diff.

We had better appeal and were seen in better light before the outbursts, all of this regardless of if you think we were robbed or not makes us look like sore losers

Yup... this thread is becoming less about our great performance and more about conspiracy theories and claims of match fixing.

Remember when people used to argue that VAR will ruin the spirit of the game and that controversial calls are part of why football is so interesting. Its interesting until we are bit in the ass from it.

VAR would probably have ruled it a penalty in any case but Gigi and our players in general wouldnt have reacted in such anger at the whistle because they would have waited to see what will be ruled after VAR and will accept the call.

Exactly. VAR is needed.

Yup even if the ref ruled it a penalty after VAR, our Gigi wouldnt have gone nuts on him this way and we would not have felt so robbed at the end of it.

It eliminates that "ref was unsure and called it anyway" feeling of injustice.

We would complain about the yellows for diving but thats way less severe than that final moment

How players like Ronaldo and Vasquez can dive all game and go unpunished is also wrong

Dybala makes one dive and a yellow card, Real Madrid players flop to the ground all game simulating contact and nothing

Ronaldo should have got at least 2 yellow cards for diving, but the reason Dybala got booked is because he dived, then asked for a penalty and then went to complain to the referee some more. Quite retarded.

That's why Buffon apologizing would help. This way the retards are going to stop with the death threats
:agree:

Understandable reaction after the game but cant have the captain of the club continue to go on an emotional rant and tarnish the ref's career.

What if he quits his career because of the death threats ? Its not like he was doing prime Ovrebo stuff out there. Shocking behaviour imo. But i guess many people would still support it.

He's legitimizing those indirectly
No he isn't. Its not like people sending death threats to the referee were perfectly respectable and well adjusted characters the day before the game and suddenly just went over the edge.

You can criticize Buffon for being unprofessional but it is in no way his fault that sad unstable people with nothing better in their lives find a home via the internet were they can anonymously threaten to kill real people over sporting events. Nor is it his fault that some of them are Juventus fans.

They are not obviously and it's not Buffon's fault that they are retards. By not apologizing however he's telling them that their motives are good since Buffon "himself is against the ref"
