So this performance and result were nearly as bad as the Lyon first leg from last season. Nice to see clear and obvious progress from this team, right.

End of an era unfortunately. We won’t win the league, we are about to get bundled out of europe at the last 16 stage (again) and we will probably lose against Atalanta in the Coppa italia final.

Misery.

Oh and 1 goal scored in the last 3 games.

Absolutely disgusting. But what do you expect when you have midfielders who barely create chances, don’t know how to shoot and have zero creativity to speak of. Ronaldo can’t do it all, all of the time.

So... who is ready for a typical second leg of calmly passing it around the back and few barely even half chances for 80mins before we finally decide to actually go for a goal and exert ourselves when it is already too late?
This is exactly what will happpen

This will be a repeat of the Benfica second leg from 2014. All we needed was one measly goal and we blew it.

Amazing how people who don't watch Juventus on weekly basis are so surprised about our style or lack of it. Polish media tonight are shocked how bad Juventus looked . All I'm thinking while reading this is "dudes, I have to watch this shit twice a week".

Don't know if it was posted before, but apparently we fielded our youngest starting XI in the CL sinds 1998. 27 years and 122 days. Fucking old if you ask me, but our youngest in a long time

Good to take something positive away from that match, other than the flattering scoreline.

Last night Juve made the Texas power grid look like less of a clusterf#$&.

Stop whining. We will win this.
You lied to us!

We've been fucking around with the ball in our own third all season, so it's no surprise to see us concede spastic goals like the one tonight. We love to pretend that we're a good team who are comfortable on the ball and can play under pressure. In reality we've got Bentancur and Rabiot in midfield.
If anything, I'm surprised it took us this long to concede such a silly goal. There are about 3 or 4 moments each game where we make life difficult for ourselves at the back, for no reason whatsoever.

I suppose what can you expect from a team captained by Alex Sandro. He has all the 'get up and go' of a toilet seat. The team just seems asleep all the time, like they don't give a shit. Maybe they do need a Conte kind of coach to kick them up the ass, complete scorched earth. There was no excuse for that performance after Napoli, two defeats is totally unacceptable. Not focusing for the first few minutes of both halves? Get the fuck out. This is amateur football.
It's truly amazing. There were moments in the 2nd half where we were playing as if we were leading 5-0 on aggregate. In minute 89 of the return leg.

Some other thoughts I had:
- McKennie absolutely needs to play more central. Playing him out wide is basically nullifying him.
- We are nothing if not predictable. Just by looking at the lineup, you know what our main & major weakness is going to be.
- I'm always surprised at how clinical Chiesa is. That was an impressive finish.
- Could it be that Bonucci is actually more important/useful than we think he is? Nah, probably not. That seems far fetched. Or does it? :boh:

questions need to be asked about fitness too. The average age has went down significantly yet it's the same shit all the time.

Somewhere in January it seemed like we were growing, fast forward a week or two and they look literally dead.

With the obsession of playing out from the back even with a lack of experience with doing it, the only combination we have that could do it at the back is Bonucci and De Ligt. Demiral and Chiellini being forced to play out from the back just breeds uncertainty to them and the rest of the team.

So many duds or burned out players in this team. Ronaldo can't even save us in games now because he doesn't seem the same player either.

Tonight you see the difference between a relatively-modest group of players who are well-drilled against a team of better players who have no fight or real idea what they are supposed to be doing. Yes of course some teams are further down the road with their project than us but we are not a pub team, it is assembled to win.

The 2-1 result isn't terrible in the context, but the main upside is that the ref pissed off Ronaldo at the end of the game so he is guaranteed to score in the return leg. Who's to say some other dumb cunt isn't going to just give them a goal from nothing in that game and make our task very difficult? It wouldn't be in the least bit surprising.

This team needs to get its head out of its ass quickly.
When the engine room of the team is Rabiot and Bentancur you know we are in trouble. We need a midfield leader desperately, we have no one that can wrestle back the momentum of the game. No one that can dictate the pace of the game.

I don't like Bonucci because I like defenders who can defend, but he's always been a good footballer, so if he has enough protection around him it is a system that works because it allows the midfield to move further up and scares teams to press too high and hard.

Chiesa has been a great signing, that is for certain. He has done far more than I expected first season. It's several players we already had that have become problematic for us.
