Malmo had 1 or 2 guys who kept committing fouls time and time again yes, but in different circumstances we could have easily found ourselves 1-0 down courtesy of a Pen at 0-0 and if it was against a bigger team who crowd the reff and influence games it probably would've happened
All in all the better team won, and the reff was a bit out of his depth by the looks of it but we recieved a lot of soft free kicks. I'd have been pissed off too if it was the other way around.
Malmo should have been given a straight red just before the plays that led to the penalty claim. That reckless studs up tackle, straight to the shins of Padoin was as clear a red card as a ref could ask for, aside from punching someone in the face. So the series of plays that led to that penalty claim very likely never happens if Malmo receives the red that clearly should have been given.
I don't see how on earth they can complain about a penalty appeal less than 5 minutes after an extremely clear red card offence is ignored by the ref. Hypocrisy at its finest.
Aside from this. There were 3 different Malmo players who committed multiple tactical fouls like shirt tugs, wrapping up our players, trips, etc, of the sort that Pereyra was booked for (his very first foul of the game after coming on). The ref did not card a single one of those three Malmo players in the first 70 minutes. If anyone has something to complain about, it's Juve. Malmo went into the game hoping the ref would allow them to commit an endless stream of fouls to negate Juve's superior quality, hoping they'd get one of those "just let them play" refs that can occasionally be such a detriment to top teams against uber-physical, mediocre sides. They didn't get what they wanted in this regarded, and are now crying bloody murder for all the free kicks given, which clearly had to be given by any proper ref.
The ref missed a red card for them, before that penalty claim, so those clearly negate one another. If anything Malmo was given the advantage, by being continuously allowed to foul our players with no fear of receiving a card.
