The more I think about the match and players, the more I feel we have a chance, but as soon as capellos 4-4-2 is mentioned.. down my hopes go. Talking about a rollercoaster. I guess all I can do is dream.

All this talk about Nedved could be a bit premature, if he doesn't influence the game like the saviour, other are claiming him to be.. then it will be even more demoralizing then it currently is.

I don't fancy our chances of going through against Arsenal. We may win, but I don't think we have a chance of scoring three goals.

We only beat Arsenal once before!? And that was with players, in form and fit.
With our team so restricted, and the fact that we only have one striker that looks like he can do something. I'm just not over confident.

I saw this from some football site

Juventus and Arsenal have played each other on five previous occasions in European competition, including Arsenal's 2-0 first leg win.

In the 1979/1980 Cup Winners' Cup semi-final, Arsenal drew 1-1 at Highbury before winning 0-1 in Turin.

In the second group phase of the 2001/02 Champions League, Arsenal beat Juventus 3-1 at Highbury and lost 1-0 in the away leg.

Juventus have nine survivors from the 2001/02 matches; Gianluigi Buffon, Lilian Thuram, Gianluca Pessotto, Alessandro Birindelli, Gianluca Zambrotta, Pavel Nedved, Alessandro Del Piero, David Trezeguet and Marcelo Zalayeta.

Current Arsenal players Lauren, Sol Campbell, Ashley Cole, Robert Pires, Fredrik Ljungberg, Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp all played in at least one of the 2001/02 matches. Ljungberg scored twice and Henry once in the 3-1 win.
Current Juventus midfielder Patrick Vieira played in both of those matches for Arsenal.

Other players to have figured for both Juventus and Arsenal in their careers include Liam Brady, David Platt and Thierry Henry.

Juventus have hosted an English club on 16 occasions, winning 10, drawing three and losing three.

Of their 10 victories, only one (3-0 v Manchester United in 1975/76) was by a scoreline which would put them through against Arsenal. Juventus did win 2-0 at home to Newcastle United in 2002.

Juventus' three home defeats against English clubs were 0-1 v Arsenal in 1979/80, 2-3 v Manchester United in 1998/99 and 0-3 v Manchester United in 2002/03. The last two were in the Champions League.

Arsenal have visited Italy on nine occasions, winning three, drawing four and losing just twice.

Those two defeats were 3-2 at Sampdoria in 1995 and 1-0 at Juventus in 2002. Their last two visits resulted in a 1-3 victory at AS Roma and a 1-5 win at Internazionale.

Liverpool (1965/66), Leeds United (1970/71), Wolverhampton Wanderers (1971/72), Arsenal (1979/80), Manchester United (1998/99) and Liverpool (2004/05) have all ended Juventus' participation in a European competition.

Arsenal have never been knocked out of European competition by an Italian club.

We used 4-4-2 in our unbeaten season and we were playing better football then we are now. That was with two defensive centre mids too. I guess it depends upon the Coaches input.

What can be more demoralising than already knowing that we are virtually out. The fact that nedved didnt play in the first leg, gives some hope. I know he isnt at his best, But his had plenty of rest, plenty of time to focus on the match, if he doesnt play well on wednesday then certainly he can be added to an already huge list of players that need to leave. Although that list remains personal I doubt that will ever happen this feeling of getting knocked out by english clubs may last longer than intended... :frown:

You know statistics don't mean shit. But anyway for your benefit here is another statistic- Arsenal have never got to the semi-finals of UCL. That must be enough for you.

That said I am still hopeful.

First of all we dont want your point of view especially if it includes school language. Secondly you would find on the contrary that there are loads of arsenal supporters who dont even hail from anywhere in uk nevermind even london. These same supporters have given a lot to your club so much so that it pays your highest paid players. What I mean by that? finance.. ask you manager wenger.. why else on earth would they want to travel to the south east of asia. Although I personally dont come from there I do my little fair share in helping my club and have watched them a few times here in uk since they have come here in england and they were the first team that I ever watched as a child. Makes me wonder if people like you are fans at all.. all you want to do is spark some sort of reaction or another from the oppositional supporters.. looking for cyber fights .. well boo hoo.:dontcare:
PhRoZeN, I'm a bit surprised you've dignified this person's posts with your replies.
