well this oh so great juventus side is underperforming all year long and like it or not, arsenal at the moment are playing the best football on earth. and after all they've been through this year, i cannot even imagine where would we be if had all those injuries that arsenal have gone through.. i doubt we'd be fighting for european place, as padovano quite rightly put it last year, we are one injury away from relegation battle. arsenal have 3 of their first choice defenders out for most part of the season, yet again, no matter who pthey played, its only 2 goals conceded in 9 games.

If you look through here, there is something resembling good debate.

From a neutral point of view Kolo has easily been one of the best central defenders in england this year; he has made no mistakes and the same applies to Lehman. I can't speak for in europe as I don't watch all of the games (only one a week is televised here) but both players will be mentioned in the premiership awards this season.

Toure is not inconsistent at all though, so whoever said that was very misguided.

Yes I gave the wrong examples, but on a normal level eboue certainly aint a first teamer and to be perfectly honest neither is senderos or kolo. you already named your first team earliar which is laauren, sol, clichy, cole. Believe me it may have not had enough pace in the game too. As you had the young defenders in charge the likes of Sol would have certainly lost the plot with our strikers pace.

The same could be said for kolo, he has gilberto or fabregas in front of him and lehman behind him.. jees what a stupid excuse.

Terry like it or not remains the best in EPL and has certainly won more premiership player of the month than kolo.

Yeah, okay, Gilberto who has been totally out of form for like 5 months out of this season. Fabregas isn't all that defensive. Lehmann has been great but you can't say Cech hasn't. Chelsea's style is a lot more defensive and they have Makelele who's always defensive and Essien who's usually defensive but can at times be given permission to be on level with Lampard attacking (barely ever). So Terry having great defenders (if you don't think they are world class) in Gallas, Carvalho, Ferreira, etc. and world class DMC's and a world class keeper had much more help than Toure who had basically Lehmann (since Senderos and Fabregas, as good as they may be for their age weren't performing all the time this season, although Fabregas was nearly every game and Gilberto's performances were atrocious at times. Lauren, Cygan, Seb Larsson and whatever other make-shift LB we had wasn't really doing too well on there and neither was Flamini really until recently. With all the shit our defence has had this season, having conceded the third least amount goals in the EPL (the same as Milan according to you) is quite a feat to manage and Kolo, with Jens is primarily responsible for this.

This is Toure's third year as a first team starter. It is Eboue who has been in the line-up since returning from the ACN.
