as in for this match-up my heart says liverpool because they are underdogs, etc. it would mean so much to Liverpool to make it through, and if they did, Juve would be free to concentrate on the scudetto ;) but my brain says juve because we might beat chelsea, assuming that they make it through
imo. u can only have your heart for 1 team, ONLY 1 team!!! Forza Juventus !

anyway...

I hope we play good football and beat liverpool !
hmm lets say 3-1 !

Forza Juventus !

just play as if Gerrard is playing cause entering the match as winners is most deadly for the players , Liverpool are a well organized team and they play very well on the counter attack , poeple who saw their match against Leverkusen knows that !!

The best way to play is to attack them in the first 15 minutes, and try to score goal. If we score then mission complete, take control of the game. Else after 15 min. we have to take the control of the game, and play with alot of care, because an away goal will destroy us!
If it is still 0-0 in the second half, again play controlled in the first 10 min. and start to attack more and more.

exactly, if we score in the 1st 15 mins, liverpool will try to attack and thus leave spaces in their defence, and so we can score again...

The Liverpool FC captain Steven Gerrard will not travel to Turin for the second leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final against Juventus FC.

Groin strain
Gerrard was typically inspirational as Liverpool established a 2-0 lead against the Italian side at Anfield last Tuesday, only for Fabio Cannavaro to head an away goal which leaves the tie finely poised. However, the England midfielder will be watching from home as the tie concludes, after failing to shake off a groin strain sustained during the closing stages of Saturday's 1-0 Premiership defeat at Manchester City FC.

Alonso option
Liverpool confirmed today that Gerrard will stay at Melwood for further treatment to boost his chances of playing against Tottenham Hotspur FC on Saturday. The absence of Gerrard could signal a return to the first team for Xabi Alonso following his outing for the reserves last Wednesday after three months out. Yet coach Rafael Benítez will not risk the Spain midfielder if not fully fit.

I'd have been happier if he played. So they won't have an excuse!

Both of them make me want to faint TBH.

And without Gerrard Pool seems less dangerous, but tis does not mean that we should underestimate them. We should make use of this advantage and shut them down.
HEHE :D

i have a feeling that the gerrard's injury thing is a kind of smoke screen from the pool....
they want us to take the game easy and they think they could play better as an underdog...!!
Thanks for sharing ma mind.

Emerson and Trezeguet will both be fit to face Liverpool on Wednesday, reports Goal.com’s Italian edition.

Both of the Juventus stars rested on the weekend, when the Bianconeri battled to a 3-3 draw at Fiorentina.

Emerson is suffering from muscular problems, while Trezeguet has yet to reach top form as he has been hit by a flurry of injuries this season.

While the Brazilian midfielder will surely start the match against Benitez’s Reds, Trezeguet will get Capello’s nod only if Don Fabio decides to bench skipper Alessandro Del Piero.

Liverpool won the first leg match 2-1.

Gerrard In Fight To Face Juve
4/11/2005 11:05:00 AM
Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard faces a fitness battle to be ready for Wednesday’s Champions League quarter final second-leg clash with Juventus.
The England star is believed to have aggravated an old groin injury in the 1-0 defeat to Manchester City on Saturday.

More news is expected today, but should Gerrard fail to turn out, Xabi Alonso may be rushed back into action.

Liverpool hold a 2-1 lead from the first-leg.

Honestly, i don't care if Gerrard is playing or not, we should play our Football, the real Juve football and don't give any attension about Gerrard's absent or not, as 44bigbert said, this could be just smokescreen......

Pavel Nedved has declared himself fit for Juventus’ crucial Champions’ League clash with Liverpool.

The former Lazio star collided with fellow Czech Tomas Ujfalusi and landed awkwardly on his back during the Bianconeri’s 3-3 draw with Fiorentina. Despite his recent injury problems, Nedved was able to finish the match.

“It was only a little knock,” he stated. “I hope that the worst period is over because I want to have a great end to the season with Juventus – starting against Liverpool.”

Having only returned from injury last week, the Old Lady will be delighted to hear that Nedved is fine to face Liverpool – but the player himself admits that he must find form quickly.

“Since I have come back I have tried to give the maximum,” he added. “I was happy with how I played at Anfield but I didn’t like the way I played in Florence.

"Now we will see in the third game. I have learned to take each game as it comes because it is difficult to play when you are not fully fit.”

Juventus go into the Champions’ League quarter-final second leg with a 2-1 deficit to overturn.
